Re: The Honest Board
Speaking of honesty...I just opened my box of tabs I ordered from you and think I only ordered 1,000 but I have 20 of the bundles in there. Don't know how many are in each bundle but it seems to be well over 1,000 in the total amount. These shipped from your guy in California. If I owe more send me a bill.
As for your topic above...I'm not sure. Our industry at this point is already so divided. Personally, I trust and respect pretty much everyone on this forum. I know I can be nuisance factor at times....but honest, I'd like to think so as well as everybody else here.
Maybe someone else has better input on this topic.

Kinda like a fraternity. Or like at Harvard, it's called a Final Club, which is the last group you will ever join. Filled with connections of pros that will help you advance in you skill nod buainess. All members go through a vetting process. I get it.

Re: The Honest Board
I see the connection, I am just not sure how to work it.
It seems to me that the board is full of honest people, so anyone not honest will naturally be driven off with torches all the way back to the castle. That sort of handles itself, I think.
I do like the idea of incorporating the "honest" to the title somewhere to give new prospective members a warning that they need not join if they lack that attribute...maybe a probation period for new members not sponsored by a current member in good standing?

That idea there has some of the mason concept in it. Someone who wants to joins need passage by a current "mason" sponsor to guide them through the process.
Good thoughts

Re: The Honest Board
If you incorporate the word honest, in the board title, that would be dishonest, or lead people to belive your dishonest.
Kinda like "Honest Johns Used Car lot" , every one knows he is a crook.
The thing all honest people have in common , is that everyone knows it. No need to state it.
I would say, the "cleaners lounge" , or something like that,

Larry, Who is us ? That would include me right? lol
No, I Was just using that as a concept to illustrate the point, the point being honest business never have "honest" in the title.

Re: The Honest Board
Not used car sales men. Just experienced carpet cleaners you know the guy that's been doing it so long he knows just what to do. Just ask him and he tells you how but didn't listen and did it your way, the first time then you did it like he said and it worked and in less time.
I say no need to change let come read and learn. Take or leave it. As it's already been said if they can't handle the truth they leave anyway. Let the grape vine do the work.
Besides one big happy family I'm a only child, but the big family I know get in fights but a outsider can't get in the middle of it. It's family we'll work it out ourselves .

Re: The Honest Board
Generally you can get a feel of someone by the way they talk to others. How they offer advice. Willing to go out of their way to help by spending time on the phone, go by and personally visit them. Send them a lead for a part or how to fix...
99% on this board fit that catigory. Except that cracker guy.
- that 1% usually don't last long on this board.
Just kidding Davey..
I stand by the golden rule, treat others like I would want to be treated. Heck, even those that done me wrong, I will still treat them with some respect.

Re: The Honest Board
Since most of you are board hoppers consider this: I don’t think a guy is honest if he only posts on one board at the exclusion of others. He clearly isn’t interested in helping all he can is he? He’s dishonest if you ask me.
Sorry Jo I don't know how to copy and paste a paragraph honestly!
Sorry guys I only post on this forum I guess we know what I am Lol.
I'm busy making a living paying bills I'm committed to this forum if the rest want to ask a question then they need to join this board and ask other wise sorry out of luck.

Yeah I'm kinda with ya Eddie. I post here cause I believe the members here value each other which inturn produces the contributions from the group.
I honestly want to help others, and I honestly want to learn from other. Jumping from forum to forum is a waste of time. I may wonder in some from time to time. But my commitment is with the lounge.

Re: The Honest Board
I only post on two boards.
I don't post a lot here, because I don't have a lot to offer to this board. Not got the years of service like most of the guys here.
My knowledge pool is not as deep as some of you here.
I do however, remain honest and helpful.

Knowledge can be viewed in many ways. Years of experience is one. I only have under five years experience. I find that how others do things has been most valuable to me. I read, watch, and then evolve what I've learned into something I can use in my business.
To all Memebers, please don't feel your years in service as a deterant to posting here. You carry a palithera of information just in your own approach to cleaning or running your business. You will find when you do share, you will continue to develop your ideas and others will learn.

Re: The Honest Board
" New guys passion growing to a peak from around 2 to 5 years, and more experienced hanging around to share what they know from 5 to 10 years.
New guys should feel comfortable asking Qs cuz they'll have lots of them. They also have the most passion and desire.
More experienced guys should feel comfortable in stepping away but not til they know they've done their share of helping those coming up. This way we are self-sustaining."
Excellent point and observation Joe, I absolutely agree.

Re: The Honest Board
Joe, I can feel the hassles you have to go thru as a supplier. Wading thru the leaches and free loaders, just to get to those that appreciate what you do and supply. They waste your time/$ until you feel its time to cut them off. Then they move on to another supplier and try to take from as much as they can. I am lucky, I have not had but a few bad apples over the years. I've learn to go with my gut when things don't feel right. We all have something to offer here, big or small. I benifit from this board. Other boards? I've viewed a few, but didn't feel much value(never registered with them, just a few peeks.)

Re: The Honest Board
Hey freemind1
You maybe new and setting back and just reading what the others are saying is ok. But I've been a instructor a few times and I always tell people the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask. So ask if we're not talking about something you need info on ask that's what the board is for.
Just remember you might get ten different answers Lol. But at least you have choices.

Re: The Honest Board
FM1,
No matter the time/experience of some of us in this biz, the new guy can and usually will be just as helpful as the old dogs. Reality is many old dogs, "know it all" so they quit looking or making an effort to learn, I know one personally very well. We started in this biz about the same time, so we both have same amount of years under our belts, but the difference is he believes he already knows everything, is not willing to take classes and has given up on even listening or being willing to learn the new ways for the most part.
This industry/biz is TOTALLY different than when I started, chems, methods, and equipment are completely different now and soooo much better.
So my point is this, even the new guy has many things to teach the vets, because the new guys only know the newest and the best ways, and maybe by sharing about it they can help the vets, esp. if like my old dog friend I mentioned above...........or even just helping the guy coming along that's newer and less experienced than you are.
