No matter the time/experience of some of us in this biz, the new guy can and usually will be just as helpful as the old dogs. Reality is many old dogs, "know it all" so they quit looking or making an effort to learn, I know one personally very well. We started in this biz about the same time, so we both have same amount of years under our belts, but the difference is he believes he already knows everything, is not willing to take classes and has given up on even listening or being willing to learn the new ways for the most part.
This industry/biz is TOTALLY different than when I started, chems, methods, and equipment are completely different now and soooo much better.
So my point is this, even the new guy has many things to teach the vets, because the new guys only know the newest and the best ways, and maybe by sharing about it they can help the vets, esp. if like my old dog friend I mentioned above...........or even just helping the guy coming along that's newer and less experienced than you are.
Boy is that ever true. The things that we did back in the late 80's are nothing like what is being done today. I sat in a CCT class about 6 years ago for a refresher and in the back of the room were 2 guys with over 50 years experience between them working for a large franchise. They felt that they new it all and had the Master ratings to back them up, so they didn't listen at all and never tried to contribute to the class on any topic. Those two cleaners failed the exam badly...I mean down in the 50% ring.
Things that I was taught and did back in the late 80's would not get me far in today's market, so I had to evolve or die. I learn something new every day from you guys and that is progress for another "old dog" cleaner.

Re: The Honest Board
I don't post on a lot of boards. I gave up on that HQ site when I was emailed about this one. No reason, just easier. I spend a lot more time in the field and in the garage tinkering and trying than I do on a computer. I've probably got way too many projects going right now any way. I'm going to have to focus.
I have solicited help from my brother, who's a techie, to teach me how to do videos and post them. I can kick myself for not having a larger portfolio of before/after pics to share. That's my goal. I'd like to contribute more to this board with pics and videos.

The only way to be. I could really go hang out at joes shop until he ran me off. Too bad for me, good for Joe.
