10x10 room with two strokes? What guys using a wand with a 5 foot manifold. I would like to see a video of that.

Dave C I may need to keep the tool a couple of more weeks to get a better feel for it Very Happy

Haven't tried the open handed forward dry stroke yet Dave.

Dave mentioned to me today that he has a leader vac hose that takes more weight of the handle and more flexible than the lil better. Its a 2inch hose right Dave.

The way it is now the loaner can fit in a medium usps flat rate box $12.95 anywhere in the US. The vac hose will change that.

However long you keep it, Mo the rest of us will do that long or longer. By the time it gets to the last couple guys (maybe by years end? lol), you'll have some pissed dudes. laughing

So what d you think? You want that leader vac hose? If Dave says it makes the tool better it might be a good idea?

No, I can't cover the width of the room in two strokes....I just meant from wall to opposite wall in single line. Then again, 5 ft wand head would have potential.

Those short chop strokes were great back in the day driving a 1.5 inch unglided pos wand.  It is still good for some situations, but hunching over is never good for the back.

I just measured my wand stroke with a VT12 x-long tube......54 inches without stretching.  I could reach it a few more inches, but my form would degrade and be bent over too much.

So, I can't quite cover the 10 foot span in two steps without stretching for the extra 6 inches on every stroke.

So, that means that I would have to take 3 steps per row (2 full and 1 short) and  10 rows to cover that 10x10 room....or 30 strokes.

If this handle gets me another 12 inches on my stroke, it would save me 10 strokes to cover that same room (2 steps per row instead of 3).

As much as I hate math, that 10 strokes can add up pretty fast on a job.

I know Dave said a foot and a half increase and I may not have done it correctly. But when I look at the video it looked like a foot more for me.

Already sent. I guess you have to "suffer" with longer wand strokes and a rotating grip untill Thursday.

Whats interesting is that you can do the vac stroke and when you naturally pull back it activates the trigger. A regular wand valve doesnt give you that natural flow. (Ergonomics in action)

Keep trying it, Mo. I don't yet have much booked for next week yet, to even try it on. I was busy as heck this week, but so far next week not so much. Sad

I added a video to show proper cleaning stroke and how much longer your stroke can be.

Thanks for the video, Dave! I need a bvigger blower to take full advantage of this I think.

I'll try it, and hope for the best.

No need for a bigger blower. Its the same wand. Just a different valve.

As I've said before, I've always needed to weight my wands assist handle to maintain good suction with my 36 blower, to have a chance of decent dry times. How is that going to change with your handle, Dave?

And if I don't do that, I don't see how I'll be able to get the added length?, which seems to require one handing?

Tou can still push down on the assist handle and even the valve it self by rotating the angle. Btw: i have never heard of your technique except for maybe water damage.

Does anybody else have to push down on the assist handle as a matter of course?

Pushing down with the assist handle was standard practice back out in Laguna decades ago when I ran a non-glided single jet wand and small blower. I needed the added impact to both scrub and recover....not sure if it is necessary now.

Even with a 36 blower, you should still have good recovery with a holed glide without pressing down....unless it is spinning slow. I wonder if it has just become your natural wand stroke over the years more than the actual need for it?

At any event, you know your needs better than anyone and if that is the situation, then your point is well made.

I love that longer reach in the video...that is what I was looking for more than the comfort factor. That part of the design is a big success. cheers

Maybe that's what I need, you mentioned a "Holed glide"^.......and I learned yesterday how much difference that makes on my RX...So maybe it's time I get one for my wand.

I think it is worth a try anyway....made a big difference for me. I do run a larger blower, but out past 250 ft., I still get dry to the touch on 2 dry passes with holed glide.
