Anyone a Sailor?

Anyone a Sailor?
After realizing that I need to take a vacation, I was thinking about enrolling in a 5-10 day sailing course. I figure it might come in handy in Hawaii next year and I always enjoyed sailing the lakes back in college with the Navy ROTC unit.
Anyone ever attend any good schools that they can recommend? I am looking mainly at the following schools:
Anapolis Sailing School
J/World
Colgate Off-Shore
Olympic Circle Sailing Club
Blue Water Sailing

Where do you have to go to attend those classes, or their location that is?
Only sailing I've done is on a renal Hobbie Cat in HI a long time ago......and it really didn't go too well.

Re: Anyone a Sailor?
Ive sailed small boats, lasers etc
really fun, even the really small 1 person boats are cool.
took a class which was mostly basics with the really small 1 person boats, most of the class was playing a game where u sail around each other and throw these sponge balls at each other.. kinda like dodge ball

Same here AC, just little runabout 1-man boats for me as well. I would love to sail a 30 footer leaned way over in a strong wind....that would be cool.
Finding the time? I don't know, but I need to locate some somewhere.
The training schools are mostly in the Florida, NY, and San Francisco areas with some rogue ones off the coast of Thailand...probably have a lesson on fighting pirates with that one.

Re: Anyone a Sailor?
Ive think about buying a boat but I hear they are big money pits. What manufacture has the best reputation for reliability.
Coming back home from California we crossed the colorado river at Parker AZ and I wanted to check out a lot with a manufactured home right on the river with a private dock.
My wife empathetic about not buying it . But I thought it would be awesome to just leave the boat and other toys there and not have to haul a boat around.
One think I did see was three trailer with flat tires on the side of the road.

I would probably poop myself going that fast. That's last pic of the boat hydroplaning looks crazy.
Re: Anyone a Sailor?
My Brother has run a boat shop since 1985, according to him the Boston Whaler is your best bet for long-term reliability.
