Ive already had to replace O-rings in my wand (guess from lots of heat) have any of you switched to the red High Temp O-rings? I am curious why they dont put them in to begin with. What are your thoughts on this?

Maybe I dont understand something.

I have big box of viton o-rings....change them often. They only cost a couple of pennies each from Dultmeier.

I'm away on a job now, but search for Dultmeier Sales...then search in the couplings area.

I'll try and post link when I get home.

They make them with the crap o-rings because it's more profitable for them. If they put quality in, then they wouldn't be able to sell us rebuild kits.

My thought?........buy a good SS soft touch valve. I've been using them a couple years now, and only had to rebuild once.

But it will pay for itself on the 2nd job.

Yeah, if you get the seals from local distributor, they may not even be real viton, like Dave said, SS soft touch valve from Joe really hold up well, I've been using mine for over a year now and it's still good.
Are we talking about the seals on the bottom of the valve ?
Rob, if you have time could you post the link to that seal please ? Thank you.

Thanks Devon for posting the link....as a note, they do carry the ss valves as well.

And speaking of that, check your valves!

I ended up changing a valve out last night just because it had been over a year and I had just purchased a couple more. It didn't leak or anything, just time for a change.

I gained 10 degrees of heat and about 100 psi without changing any settings on the tm. It must have been going bad....blistered my hand from it.

Does it work good Dave?

I just ordered it online, and hav4en't got it yet.

But from what I've seen and read from the long time installer vets, is there's no comparison between it an a traditional iron. Makes seams faster and better, doesn't smoke and stink up the house with burning glue smell, doesn't cause peaking or backing distortion just to name a few, faster, easier lol, and makes better seams.  Also it can be used for carpet repairs where traditional iron can't a lot of times. It can also be used on other types of flooring too.

All that for the low low price of $435......Can't do the job if you don't have the proper tools.

Why would you need "one knees" Mo, don't you already have two of them?  laughing

I'm not sure about the "tap" hehe, but you do need the cool glide tape for the cool glide seams. But it's not bad at about $18 for a 20 yd. roll I think it is.........which might be about double normal seaming tape price, but if it means I can do a $350 patch/repair job in half the time, I think it's worth it...........and you could do them for a year or two on one roll, which could be a couple grand in repairs, so I'm not going to sweat it.

Is it just me or I can't seems to find the o rings in dultmeier's website, I found the valves and such and I was hoping they would have a "related products" section under the product's description like some other websites but there wasn't one, oh well.

Don't you have to change the spring and the ball inside the valve too when you change the o ring ?

I'm not sure DP about wand valve o-rings....but if you're looking for the o-rings that go in the inter part of a female QD (to keep them from leaking), Joe sells them.

Guess it's kinda back on track now. loll
