We won't Scott !!
Oh did I tell you guys that I'm in Vegas now ? Razz
Believe it or not it's a little chilly, a couple of degrees colder than LA, around 50s now.
My sister and her bf and my mom and my nephews are joining me, they're staying at my 3 BR TS while me and my wife are staying in MGM.
I still got quite a few calls today, lost a couple same day services, believe it or not a guy called at 5 pm and ask if I can come at 5:30 to clean his carpets, I almost told him "sure, it's going to cost you $ 2000, let me get all of your info including your CC # and SS #" Razz
Some people just can't plan ahead, smdh, lol.

Crazy as it is, for some reason it goes in cycles for me, though always getting yelp calls.........

But for maybe a month it will be mostly good non price driven customers, and then maybe a month of about 95% of them just looking for the cheapest price..........it's when I have periods of those, I just wish they would just leave me alone. laughing

I feel the same way Davey.....I've been cleaning apartments lately and sometimes I just want to turn off the phone. Just find it hard to motivate myself when I walk into a dump knowing that they will only pay for the "once over" cleaning.

Makes the commercial jobs feel that much better this time of year.

It is often like mining for gold....when the mine starts to play out, you have to be ready to move farther up the mountain.

Hope he gets it figured out....maybe get him to join up and tell us his story. I bet it would help a lot of people starting out.

Vegas is really sounding good to me now that winter has found Nebraska again.

Forecast for Monday is 8-12 inches of blowing snow and real temps at -2 during the day. I was really hoping that I wouldn't see this at all this year.

I guess I can forget about that post holiday rush like in years past....at least for a week.

I can't even imagine -2 temp!

I was in Ohio once when it was in the teens, and that was more cold than I could take..........I've always been in CA, so I guess I'm just not made for that kind of cold.

I don't know how you guys do it, really.

Re: Countdown to Vegas

I was told the secret to staying warm in frigid temps by an old Norwegian that I met outside of Narvik.  Some of you have heard this story, but for those who haven't....here it goes.

This Norwegian was sitting on bench in single degree temperatures without a coat on when we met.  He actually appeared to be comfortable as he stared off into the distance, so I asked him for his secret to staying warm like that.

He told me that when you feel cold, just imagine the most beautiful women in the world...naked, and you will not need a coat.

I asked him what do you do if you are still cold?  He told me that was easy, add her sister...naked, and you will not need a coat.

I then asked what do you do if you are still cold after that?  He paused for minute, looked back to me and passed on his final wisdom:  "Buy a coat...and you might be gay".

Peace

I just checked airfare ticket from LA to Vegas, leaving Wednesday evening through Friday evening ( return flight ) and it was $ 80.20 round trip, that's amazingly cheap !! Now the most expensive thing is to get my wife to drop me off at LAX and pick me up on Friday, lol

For those that are planning on staying at the expo hotel, is anyone getting a rental car?

They have a shuttle that runs to the strip, but it does cost a little bit. After 4-6 people pay the shuttle fee a few times, it would cost more than renting a vehicle.

I am thinking about renting one at this point, but was curious what the interest would be from others.

When I travel by air, I always get rental car but as of now, I'm not sure if I'm flying or driving, if I'm flying, I don't mind pitching in the car rental costs, oh wait, Mo is driving, we can just ask him to drive us to the strip, I think that's a great idea Very Happy lol.

I just booked a 1 bedroom condo at my time share a couple of miles away from south point, apparently south point is running out of room and wanted close to $ 200 / night after taxes and fees, I don't want to pay close to $ 400 for 2 nights stay.
The place has a heated pool, a couple huge hot tubs with 100 degrees waterfall, wave pool, basketball court, gym, if you guys want to hang out there after the convention is done, you're more than welcome to.
I haven't booked flight yet, I still haven't decided if I want to fly or drive, will probably decide in a week or so.

Who is going so far? Where is everyone staying and what is the plan? There is a slight possibility happening on my end. The guys that Im meeting at my other show are talking about meeting early to have a focus meeting, we all need to go over a couple new products. Its going to be based on two key guys showing up...Me and another guy who just had a death in the family...so???

Was that the hotel rate WITH the event discount or without?

The timeshare sounds pretty darn nice, I didn't know you went to Vegas that often Dp. I guess that makes you the tour guide.

I will be staying at the event hotel and arriving on that Wed. prior to the show.
