Post by Devon07 on Tue Dec 08, 2015 5:59 pm

Ive got two large jobs where I do the whole house carpet, tile cleaning AND sealing.
I have a 2200sf gym (CGD).
3 urine jobs that all want it done right.....not sure on size.
1 RV
6 carpet cleaning jobs and two want scotch-guard (maybe up sale the others)
2 tile/grout clean jobs that are smaller.
Thats a heavy week for me!. Money Pile

My favorite part is the RV on your schedule. Laughing

I doubt the big city guys do many of those, but around the sticks, they come up quite often. I even cleaned the furnished loft of a horse barn once...find that in a large market.

We have several RV parks here because of some lakes....I get the calls! I charge to do them too. an RV or car will flat wear me out! I dont care for them BUT I always remember who owns them usually. Wink

Sounds like you've get some nice work lined up. I might try marketing to the rv crowd in the spring. Lots of campgrounds in the area.

I hate doing RV jobs personally....do about 6 per year, but they have always been as an add-on after I cleaned their house. You know, one of those, "While you are here" kind of things.

I don't care for the tight spaces and they are 90% the result of pet damage that is left in a closed up RV to sit in the Sun for months sealed up.

They used to be a $100 add-on, but I haven't been doing them much lately....just don't like them. Autos fine and I love adding boats to the ticket, but not RV's.

Yeah same here, I hate RVs, I've only done them a few times because I would seriously charge them, I've done a full cleaning on a small one and charge around $ 400 ( not including General kitchen and bathroom cleaning ). People usually backed down slowly as soon as I tell them the price, one tried to argue on the phone why is it so expensive for such a small area, I offered him to do the cleaning himself for half price ( $ 150 ) for just the carpets all the way to the front, he passed, lol.
Rack them in Scott, pretty soon you're going to enjoy some slower times Very Happy

Wow, that's a service right there Ed !
I haven't seen my TM mechanic in a long time, been doing the service and repair myself due to distance, he's like 2 hours away from me, as much as I don't like doing service and repair, I don't feel like driving 4 hours round trip to have him do it, plus I have to wait for a couple of hours for him to finish, half a day gone :X

I refuse to do cars. Don't like standing on my head and cleaning carpet with an upholstery tool. No RV's here but we do have boats. I used to clean a booze cruise ship and a few subs for the Navy. Rocking Chair

Today I did a job and the lady knew I was booked but tried to pull a fast one....she said, when we are done here just follow me to my daughters and you can do hers!...I said I didnt know you wanted hers done too?...she said yes!...We went and looked at it as I did have time (thinking hers was a bigger job) she showed me the job and it was a bigger one...I measured and gave the price and said I will have to do it later....she took it as I was trying to get out of doing it.....I laughed and said, I'll do it but I want your son in law to tint my windows too....(just kidding) and she said DEAL! SOOOOO! I did it and get my van windows tinted in the deal as well as a $480 cash deal. The van to tint would have costs $120....so thats my tip. What a day....small break until a business closes at 5:30 and im back at another one.

You know, for a guy who got back into the race mainly to teach his son about the business world, you seem to be pushing pretty hard......haven't heard anything about the Son lately.

Is it still "and son" or have you been drawn back to the race at full speed due to the recent successes?

I would hate to see you peak too soon and burn out.....

I have a mission...I'm meeting the mission dead on....my son is helping but being in School I get a little busy and hired a fireman to help me at times. I wanted to be this busy but didn't plan for it to happen this quick. When I was wanting back in I was thinking how someone could make a killing in this area because of the low caliber cleaners here....I just didn't realize how right I was. The other day when my son was helping we was complaining about wrapping it up after a job.....I said fine, I'll wrap it up and you collect from the customer....he didnt want to do that either...lol but I made him and he had to do the credit card thing and all....turd got a tip! anyway when he was done he found out I didnt wrap it up! he did!...I paid him less too. My teaching method works well for me. When I say wrap it up now he says yes sir! LOL
