Vasectomy Review

My wife went off birth control and she has been telling me to get a vasectomy but for some reason I've been procrastinating She was going to to get her tubes tied but it would have been more intrusive and expensive then a vasectomy.

I had the procedure done 1 week and 4 days ago. They asked me twice if I wanted a general anesthetic and I said hell yes both times. The nurse took a look and complimented me on the good job I did shaving my scrotum and shot me up with the anesthetic. I immediately began to relax. They propped up my legs on stirrups and put me in a very vulnerable postilion.

They Dr. asked if I felt anything. He said he was pinching my scrotum really hard. I didn't feel a thing. I think he injected the anesthetic in my scrotum after that. Throughout the procedure I didn't feel a thing except on instance were I felt a tugging on the left side of my lower abdomen above the groin area. The Dr kind of freaked out when I rubbed the area that I felt the tugging and told me not to touch.

After the procedure I iced the area for 24 hours. I didn't really have pain or swelling. I initially thought I would have two incisions on each side of the sack but it was just one two incision at the base were the pee pee and scrotum meet. He was able to cut both vasdeferens from that one incision. I did a job 4 days later and felt a small amount of pain in that same area went home and iced again.

If your considering the procedure don't worry its not that big of a deal. Im looking forward to testing it out to see how everything works

You would have reviewed differently if anesthetics were useless on you, like they are me. It doesn't numb me up.

This is why I hate dentists.

Reminds me when we helped the in-laws do calf's. If you only saw what the tugging really looked like!(father in law would reach in and when he found what he was looking for, he'd just pull).
- one time, he just threw them behind and off to his side; right where his wife was standing, hit her just below the neck.
He's a retired DDS, and PT small farmer, so this ritual was yearly.
No topic was sacred at family potluck dinners.

You say it was no big deal, but the description just made me scream.....not going to ever happen for this cat.

I would say that she definitely owes you now, so I would use what you did to win a few arguments form this day forward.

Thats crazy Freemind but they are different type of anesthetics. I wouldn't have done it if I couldn't be numbed up. I guess I could have drank a 12 pack

Still   Thats exactly why I didnt watch a you tube video of the surgery Matt. I would have chickened out for sure.

The only thing I think that could have made your post worse, is if you had posted pictures............BUT Please don't!!

The real story is that he got a tracking device implanted.

If you are going to let a doctor mutilate you, you should have at least done some improvements while he was under the hood.....missed opportunity.
