BTW, the new thing around here now is a local bail bondsman, house cleaner, and someone else who I can't remember what they do laughing
Are buying mostly older cars and vans, having them wrapped or lettered in bright colors and just leaving them parked on busy major streets, for advertising. I guess it must be working, because it seems like their fleet is growing. But it's becoming kind of an eyesore, and I have a feeling the city will soon pass some sort of ordinance to prohibit it, or they will just post no parking overnight signs, to make it more difficult on them.

Maybe dont do a full wrap....use the color of the truck as the base.....then put signage as desired. A QR code is a good idea except I have never used one myself or had a customer use one.

Where is Google when you need it?

What we need is the ability to pop up an ad on people's cell phones when they are within a few car lengths from the van.

Oh crap, I just gave the overlords an idea. Mad

Rob, that's the purpose of QR, lol.
Dave, I think there are so much to see here in LA areas, from taco trucks to hookers walking down the street, the last thing they want to see and remember is another carpet cleaning can, ha..ha..ha....
AC, I might have a picture of it somewhere but the 2 vans we had semi wrapped had the name of company in red and blue, phone numbers are in red, logos in red, blue and white, the back has small logo and the name of the company sitting on the logo ( nicely done, not cluttered ) and big phone numbers underneath with reflective material on the outer border of the numbers to attract attention in the evening when it gets dark. They were all done with professional graphic designer which is my brother in law / business partner at the time.
The graphics costed about $ 800 at that time which was about 10 years ago for each van.

I do like the 3m reflective graphics.

Maybe I should have shoved a machine into an ice cream truck...they get noticed every time. Laughing

Or just put speakers with ice cream truck theme songs playing as you drive into neighborhood, I bet you all the moms and their kids will come out and watch your truck pass by laughing

Devon's wrap works because its very simple and clean.        Our wrapped express grabs a lot of attention but the work was done by a sign company..   not a vehicle wrapping company and there is a huge difference.

one knows how to make a stationary sign with lots of info,     the other knows how to get the point across in less than 2 seconds.

I wouldnt say that they just dont work in your area,    its probably well worth it to give it another try.       Most all companies that are larger than 1 truck have graphics of some kind.        Its not the people driving by that will be interested as much as the neighbors of your customers.

people see you driving and dont realize it, then when your logo/name pops up somewhere online they already have a seed planted. it really does work

open doors on a nicely wrapped van showing clean good looking TM inside like daveys bright green machine will draw attention..    and you will get jobs from it.

even with our wrap that has way too small of lettering and poor phone number placement we get people interested.

Great points AC, I always though that one of the benefits of a direct drive unit is that you can run it with the doors closed.....hides the mess.
