Possible adds on's for CCing?

Post by Freemind1 on Sat Jun 18, 2016 11:43 am

Something I have added to my business, and maybe you will want to as well?

High reach dusting. Many of the homes I work on have arched and cathedral ceilings. I offer high dusting and ceiling fan dusting.

I use a 20 foot pole (and have a 30 footer) and the unger ceiling fan duster as well as the Ettore cob web duster.

There are a good selection of brushes, as well as light bulb outfits to change flood lights and normal bulbs.

I just got the brushes and upsold the job I bid yesterday. High reach fans at 15 bucks a pop. SO, 45 for the fans in all. It will probably take me 10 minutes to do them. Easy peasy.

An Unger 18 foot pole, the Unger ceiling fan tool, and the Ettore cob web brush will cost you about 100 bucks.

I'm busy going the low road right now.  My area received between 8-11 inches of rain last night and there are tons of basements that got flooded.

In the town 8 miles from me it rained so hard that the city has told the residents to try and avoid using the toilets or do laundry until the water recedes.  I have 4 calls already for sewage back-flows.

Not glamorous, but I have a special wand and hoses just for those jobs and with a case of Sporicidin, should be able to make some quick money.

Carpet cleaners love flood work, no doubt about it.

I'm just posing the potential of a few tools, if it works for guys. Because I do high end homes, a lot of them have very tall ceilings. Maids do not clean above what they can reach with a step stool, nor the home owners generally.

I'd heard of the high reach dusting on another forum, but never really moved toward it. As soon as I bought the tools and offered it, now I realize what I have missed. Should have offered this long ago. I was missing a very good paying add-on/upsell.

Ceiling fans at the high end lake homes down here all have fans that lower themselves with the flick of a light switch. One just lowers it to clean.

Must not be the same all over.

Then you won't get them clean without getting to it and cleaning it with simple green or similar. I would either prequalify the job with them, or just flat refuse to do those type of jobs. Greasy, sticky fans can't be cleaned with a duster.

Never heard of such a thing. Most of the ones I have seen, are on a long pendant. Others are attached to a beam that is lower than the ceiling.

how are the windows going freemind? were starting to add them to a lot of carpet cleaning jobs, its pretty nice. A 400$ carpet cleaning job is sometimes doubling from adding windows. Cost is so low too.

I'm actually busier than expected. The postcards are pushing the schedule more full.

The water fed pole is making life REAL easy this year, as well as the Unger indoor kit. These things are saving my pain from the work, and making me faster.

If you guys aren't doing carpet repaira you should consider. Last I checked it adds around 10k per van for us. As little as $600 and some practice on rentals you can be doing repairs with high ROI in a matter of weeks.

I started doing stretching for a little bit, it can be profitable but not as much as carpet cleaning profit, not sure about patching and color repair, etc, due to low carpet prices, not everyone is interested in doing repairs down here, especially with rental properties.

I still want to learn that and add it, but I don't like being down on my knees much any more. It's funny, I still go out and run 5 miles per day, but I can barley walk after kneeling down for more than a minute.

I do think it is worth offering, but I would be better off hiring a tech that knows it or else subbing it out.
