Hero pic, warning graphic

Post by ACpower1 on Thu Jun 23, 2016 6:54 pm

very expensive couch and a very sick elderly lady.      Normally would never touch this type of job but its a family we have cleaned for many times,   family is very wealthy and very nice people so I threw on the gloves and got to work.       Wasnt at all what I was expecting from the phone call.

its not poo,  its blood.      She got an ulcer on her esophagus and this happened

only something I would show other cleaners lol,   did I ruin your dinner?      This one definitely tested my stomach strength and its pretty strong but the odor when it was being extracted was gut wrenching OMG smelled like metal from the iron in the blood

See many of those, you did a nice job.

For those reading, what did you use? Enzyme-based, peroxide, both?

I find that Pro-Zyme does a good job on these kind of jobs.

Definitely enzyme for me, power burst never failed me with those blood jobs, don't get them too often and don't like doing them but like AC, I will clean for certain customers only.
You can never be too careful with blood, even with hot steam, hep B viruses are still alive and well.

Oh yeah, good job man, you would have to be lucky sometimes with them, the fibers sometimes release them right away and sometimes it takes a couple of pre treatments and even then they still are not 100%.

Depends on the blood type.

(Disclaimer, that isn't actually true, but maybe the internet bots will spread that rumor now Razz )

Yep, peroxide. Or miracle.
Did a pool of it once. Domestic disput gone wrong.
Poured it on, bamm! Red gone, flush.

miracle did it,     what makes the biggest difference isnt really enzyme or peroxide but that they didnt touch it at all.

Its really amazing what will come out of fiber with hwe and no scrubbing.    I told them on the phone what ever you do dont touch it at all...   she said my husband has the resolve in hand and is about to get started on it lol

never would have come out, everyone rubs and scrubs and once they do its worked into the fiber

you can actually see right on the carpet just in front of area rug where the line of blood didnt completely come out.

in the first pic you can see that the couch was moved and dragged across the blood, thats all it takes.. just a small amount of friction and that spot wasnt completely removable.

Does that make you think about those give-away spotters? There is no doubt that the customer would have used it on that stain prior to calling you.

yup, I dont really do the spotters anymore... not for any real reason just too much on my plate to think about them.

with that type of situation it needs to be rinsed with hot water without ever any abrasion
