1) Who is looking for a van mounted filter Bx that works and doesn'LEAK when you cut your unit off.
What would you like to see.
2) If There was a unversial mount that you can mount the Devastator, linthog, hydroforce, even AC99. Would you guys be interested in buying it. It would hold the filter at a angle so that it won't leak. Easier to clean and service the filter.
Anyway give me your ideas & thoughts.

Sounds good...what would the quality be and what would the price range be? tilted sounds interesting. My rc99 wont last much longer so I would be looking at getting a better one for sure. Maybe look at a slightly better filter sock/net then what is currently offered...I use a new one each day but hate being so disposable....I would like to clean one a few times then maybe toss. other than that, no leak and made well is good.

I'm working on a prototype for each I can tell you that the filter basket will have the seal made to it no seal to replace or zip tie to keep it on as for the bag part haven't sourced that yet maybe can still use Joe's there cheap enough.

Those tear fairly easy in my opinion. I would like to see a slightly better filter myself.

I have always changed out my filter bags each day. I can't imagine using the one for several days....the flies would be happy, but I think the filters get weak as they sit there wet.

The only option beyond those paint filters that I can think of are SS baskets with a very fine mesh...like you find in irrigation filters. They aren't cheap, but they are cleanable and should last. I see them at the ag stores all the time.

To me, the desposible filter socks are a must. Would be a pita to clean out the mesh screen. I've been using the mytee filter socks on my rc99. They are a tight fit, but they go on. Use it, wash the debris down; throw away after acouple of days. Their cheap!

Matt makes a good point. When I started out, I kept the in-tank sock filter with my Butler and then used a meshed filter inline to stop the larger debris like crayons, rags, children toys, etc.

It did suck to pull that filter out and hose it down. Being able to just pull out the sock filter, drop it, and reload is a nice feature.

Working on finding the filter sock now. May cost a little more but shooting for a better bag. But you get what you pay for.

You do get what you paid for, but let's face it, the paint filter was never meant to handle debris flying at under 500 cfm. That being said, the only time I have ever had one fail was under the exposure to orange solvents. Beyond that, they have never failed to last.

I don't know if we really need a better filter, just need to adjust our usage. Reductions in harsh solvents and more frequent changes seems to work fine. One could always double the things up and it still would be cheap.

IF a sock filter came out that was stronger than 2 paint liners at less cost, I would stock up on them. Beyond that, I don't know if I would be interested to be honest.

Filter box....sure, could be interesting. Filter bag might not be so important.

Why not just a whole new filter design Ace?

I would like to see a leak proof, tight fitting lid, someway of mounting it to truck or nice feet on it, and most important... Clear. Clear Acrylic or something stronger that doesnt scratch easily.

I like the clear part of the sapphire box but dont like the box design or the mesh screen and no filter bag.

The cylinder style like devastator and rc99 are a better design imo, but need to be nice and clear so customers can watch and be amazed at all the crap coming out

I second the whole new design.
Clear means it has to be fiberglass ? I'm not sure if I would want fiberglass filter, SS or aluminum would be fine imo but a better built and leak free and without zip tie to hold the lid, and if it can be $ 200 or less would be awesome Very Happy
Regarding the socks, I prefer the cloth reusable ones, mine doesn't stink, I always wash them after every job and that's what I want, no metal mesh or disposable socks because those disposable socks a lot of times get sucked in with my big blower.

Ok, here's what I need to know. What is the water temp in the vac lines at the truck. 50 ft out and 100 ft out. then I may have a idea for a inline filter but will not be see through but if it works price will be around 200 or less with the SS basket included. Not making one with out the basket.

With that small of water volume returning back through a 2 inch wand and hose, it would cool off very quickly....can't be more than 100 degrees at the most.

Hell, you will lose 40-60 degrees at the vac slot of the wand alone due to air movement, so it can't hold much at even 50 feet.

The only clear material that I could think of using would be the shatterproof material used in test tubes. There is a company over in Iowa that produces that material in any size and thickness that you want. It also remains crystal clear under heat and chemicals.

I love the idea of a clear filter, but they would end up being really heavy. Of course if they were mounted, that would not be a problem.

That material is probably a buterol or albuterite. And no, I probably didn't spell it right.

I used to work in a plastic extrusion factory, and that material was very strong and clear. It was used for displays on store shelves.

My opinion, which isn't worth much on this subject, is if it's not a portable filter, it should be metal.

I change filters each day....I dont mind keeping one for a couple days if its an easy clean ....sometimes they are, I just hate being so disposable. My preference would be a better filter setup...new design would be cool....I have filters and they still fail.....I think the heavy vac causes the to fail....about every 4th or 5th one tears on me and its a bigger mess to clean that then to empty one real quick by inverting it then back to normal with a quick rinse. I had an idea not long ago for a metal mesh basket that mimicked the current sock....it would dump out easy and rinse well.

Universal mount prototype will be completed by end of the week. it will be out for real use testing by next week. First test is with the RC99 duel 2 inch in single 2 in outlet on 45 degree angle. for easy serviceability, stop leakage when unit is shut down.
Keep the info coming.

Angle ports on the back / bottom of the RC99. After testing the angle maybe lowered on later models. Time will tell.

Not sure why your filter bags are falling apart ot tearing. Joe's paint strainer bag are HD. I use mytee filters(lady calf length stockings). They hold up for several days. And I abuse them. I pull out the biggest lump of hair balls you could( or wouldn't want to) imagine. With minimal tears.

I'm not sure why there are so many complaints about bag failurers, it has only happened once for me and I still run one of the first RC99 filters. I have only used bags from Joe and not the hardware store, so maybe he has a better supplier?

My machine is old, but still pulls over 450 cfm, so I'm not sure that it would be a vacuum issue. I think it is the chemical selections or else brand quality that are causing it.

It's not my chems for sure. I'm getting the same bags Ive always got...the ones from JB did the same thing at times. I do get heavy duty bags and not really worried about them....I'm more focused on getting ACE info I would like to see improvement on. If someone is building a better one I know what would help me buy it.

Yes, My rc-99 has a basket but not what I would call mesh....imagine a relaxed metal screen as fine as the socks we now use.
