TNT fuel usage

Post by milspec6 on Sat Jul 16, 2016 8:20 pm

For those running TNT units, how much fuel do you go through in an hour?

I want to make sure that I bring enough for a 7 hour job tomorrow night. My fuel cell holds just under 15 gallons.

I've never even bothered to check Rob, I recall Les saying the TNTs use about 1,5 gallon per house dont quote me on that though.

That sounds about right as well. LP at 1 gallon and fuel at 1.5 gallons.

I should be covered at 8 gallons LP and 12 gallons fuel. That just about maxes what I carry so maybe a little extra would be a good plan?

I'm pretty sure these twin 20-25hp engines use about 1-1.2gal per hour. With about 15 gallons I think you're more than safe.

It's easy enough to find out exact fuel usage by just pulling from a small 1-2 gal gas can for an hour, or see how long it'll run on exactly 1 gal.

My LG3 heaters have never used more than about .5 gal propane per hour. But that is my best estimation after 20 years using them, since it's just about impossible to know for sure with propane tank gauges being so iffy.
