My house is a minefield

My house is a minefield
I finished my run late last night and ended playing some guitar until about 3 am. When I finally decided to shut down, I went downstairs to turn off the porch lights and grab some water. Then it happened, a little fat mouse ran across the dining room floor and behind the couch.
I have a simple rule, live and let live....outside. What comes inside, dies! I hate mice, those bastards can go crazy in a house like mine as it is 2.5 stories tall with lots of hiding places from the basement to the attic. War was declared on the spot.
I ended up placing the following defensive emplacements:
= 32 snap traps baited with peanut butter and some with spray cheese.
= 6 Glue traps placed near the entries and at the oven so that they can't escape if stepped in.
= 5 bait stations with a poison block in each one
= That air pellet pistol kept at the ready for a clean shot
So far, I have wiped out a lot of crickets and a family of spiders, but that fat bastard is still on the loose. This is one war that I will not allow to last long.

Classic.
I just came home with groceries and found a stray cat sleeping on my porch. I have reinforcements!!!

Re: My house is a minefield
Best two block baits are Jaguar and Bar-Bait.
Best traps I have used to date, are the newer ones that have a bait tray. You put seeds/peanut butter in the tray, and set the trap.
Don't forget your attic.
Mouse problems are house problems. If you have a house, you are bound to have mice.

Re: My house is a minefield
Thanks for tips......I often see one or two during the winter, but never this time of year. Not sure why this one came in, but he is not staying.
Re: My house is a minefield
Not the spray cheese. Hate to see it go that fat b%@%#*$.
What you need is a cat. That's kinda phycotic. Hasn't been feed in 2 days. Lock him in the house for the day.....

Re: My house is a minefield
The last mouse that I had broke into a box of Metamucil wafers. He ate half the damn box too. The poor bastard thanked me for killing him after that....he bloated up to the point of looking like a tennis ball with feet.
If that stray cat is around tomorrow, I am adopting him...I can't be home all the time. I hope that he likes really bad blues guitar though.

Re: My house is a minefield
Damn mouse still lives!
I hadn't seen any signs of him until about an hour ago when I returned from my run and I heard him scurrying under my stove. My guess is that he came in along the gas piping....I had the problem in the past and sealed it up with Steel Wool and expanding foam. I guess I need to do it again.
So, I deployed 6 more traps all around the stove both on the floor and one the counters next to it. There is no way to exit the stove without having to cross over a row of death.
I want this thing gone!

If you have one, they bring friends.
It's a party and you just didn't know!

Re: My house is a minefield
That is what I am trying to prevent.
When I bought this house 11 years ago, it became infested because the neighbor left some deer hanging in his garage and was evicted. When they cleaned out the garage months later, the mice came to my house.
I ended up killing 13 mice in just the first day. A total of 27 by the end of the week and never saw another since.
I'm pulling the stove and going in after him today!

VICTORY IS MINE
Intruder was caught by a snap trap today at 3:02 pm. Hopefully, there will only be one, but likely more are out there.
Either way, I have plenty more traps to deploy if I see signs of movement. You have to teach the lesser beasts on the food chain a lesson from time to time. Now, what do I do with the lazy cat?

Deer camera set up in my living room. Like I said, I was not going to tolerate this free-loader.
