Host machines

Post by milspec6 on Sat Dec 10, 2016 2:33 pm

Anyone have any experience with Host Reliant machines? I love my Strong Dry CRB and wouldn't want to be without it, but I would like one a little lighter for stairs and I may have a tip on buying a used one pretty cheap.

I looked into buying one when I did carpet. That's about as far as I went with it. Decided against it as I wanted the trays.

Never did invest in a CRB thankfully.

I went for the CRB with trays as well, but ended up tossing the trays. It is a better machine without them.

The Host unit always had the wire underneath that often became rusty which scared me off years ago, but I have 2 units for sale local for less than $400 each. At the new price of these kind of machines, it seems like it would be worth consideration.

Honestly, if it was JUST for stairs only, I would have bought the hot rod.

Yup, the silly grinder on a stick. Nothing I have seen is lighter. But for me, I would have needed to be doing a fair amount of stairs, to justify dragging in another tool.

That is a good point Freemind, I do have my cyclo ready to go again which was my go-to for stairs, so I really don't need another tool. I guess I am trying to convince myself that picking these units up for a cheap price would be worth doing.....they might not be.

If I was an encap guy, then adding a couple of Host machines might have some value, but encap cleaning has never really appealed to me except for very specific situations.

I think I will pass on these machines...thanks for the feedback.
