I don't usually watch football but I watched Superbowl earlier, pretty amazing come back by NE, one question, at the last 2 point play, seconds before the 4th quarter ended, why was that guy ( amendola ? ) fouled ? 2 falcons pushed him out of the end zones, I thought pushing is always allowed in football ?

I went shopping during the game instead....it was a ghost town, the best way to shop.

Ha..ha... that's classic ! I don't blame you Bob, I'm not big on football either.
I actually talked to a friend of mine and found out that there was a foul occurred before the play ( false start ? ) and that Amendola actually stepped on the touchdown line before he was pushed, so that's a touch down.
Amazing come back for sure, I thought NE was gone by halftime when it was 28 - 3.

Once the falcons got sacked and were taken out of filed goal range in the end of the fourth quarter I knew the pats were going to win. I think Brady is an a hole but it also one the greatest quarterbacks of all times

Superbowl LI Empty Re: Superbowl LI

Having gone back and watched the 4 Quarter, it looked to me like it was a mental thing where Atlanta started playing "tense" and "worried" like they expected to lose.

I used to play a neighbor of mine in 1-on-1 basketball every weekend my Senior year in High School. He was shorter than me, but was a very good perimeter shooter and star pitcher for the baseball team....even pitched for the University of Florida until injured, but that is another story.

Even though I was taller by about 6 inches, he would always beat me in a best of 3 series. Even when I was far in the lead, I just knew he was going to come back and beat me....and he was always confident of the same.

As a result, I would almost played scared, taking poor shots and trying to force plays as if I was desperate because I knew he was going to go on a streak at some point and beat me. The end result would be him doing that very thing.

It is one of the reasons that winners tend to keep winning, they have that internal confidence to stay calm and perform. When you lack that confidence, you self-destruct because you expect to. In the 4th Quarter, once New England started scoring, you saw it with Atlanta....they started playing desperate fearing that the Patriots were going to do exactly what the ended up doing.

Winning is largely in the mind, both in sports and in life.

So true ! It's amazing what our minds can do ( in positive way or negative way ).
I agreed with Mo, I'm not a fan of Brady either, and I thought he looked worried in the first half, but in the 2nd half, he looked much more determined.
