Heat exchanger hose.
My hx hose was busted yesterday, scared the crap out of me, I thought it was my heat exchanger as water was gushing out near the exhaust, called Jondon this morning and asked for price and availability, it was about 19" or so hose, it's $ 186 and special order, the tech is a super nice guy ( Jason ), I talked to him all the time, he said just get it at your local hydraulic hose shop, I stopped by "the hose man" out here in Irwindale, brought the hose in and he said what's this for ? Pressure washing ? I said no carpet cleaning, I prefer a hose with higher heat resistance, he said no problem, went in, came out with a super nice gates hose high heat 4200+ psi, told me $ 35 I said say what ?? He thought that I thought it's too expensive
This industry is getting too overpriced man, it's getting ridiculous how much profits people are trying to rake in to give the damn CEOs billions of dollars and we the small guys are paying for that.

Re: Heat exchanger hose.
I have a local shop that makes all my ss braided hoses for my butler at a 1/3 of the cost. I even have a PCQ wand with a 1/2 hydraulic hose as a replacement that cost me $7. The only down side was the added weight.
Every industry is the same way. It is never the front line people that get rich, it is the support industry that makes all the money.

Re: Heat exchanger hose.
That hose should have had a Teflon lining with wire braid. Liner is for heat and chemical, the wire braid is for pressure.

Same happen to me afew years ago. Wire braided hose was sitting up against part of the frame. Vibration had worn away at the hose. Water was flowing out the front of my tm. Same ting with Jondon, $$$. Told me to got to a local hydrolic shop.
Side note: the hose vibration worn away at the frame it was rubbing. Maybe 1/8-1/4" of the frame.

Re: Heat exchanger hose.
There must be a "Parker" dealer near you guys somewhere. I have one in my area called "Kriha" and they custom make all my hoses for far less than distributor prices. They are properly lined with SS braiding.
Re: Heat exchanger hose.
Ed, yes the hose has blue liner on it which is great, it matches my machine color, is my OCD showing ?
Bob, this place I went definitely not a parker dealer cause when I asked them about parker hoses, they told me they don't carry them but for now I'm very happy with them, nice people to deal with, plus they have a few locations throughout southern california.
