As you guys know I have a Cleanco 47 in my 2015 chevy and its doing great....no issues, I have picked up a bunch of contract work and will be working many late and/or early hours in addition to my regular daily jobs....I'm torn, I want another CDS but think with me running long hours at a time 5 to 8 hours, I though beefing things up a bit would be smart....I just don't know what to put in the new Ford Transit...I ordered one with sliding doors on BOTH sides! tired of not having that.

What rig would you put in this van for two to three nights a week at 5 to 8 hours a night? Was looking at Prochem, Sapphire and the El Diablo for fun....I'm just torn knowing that Sapphire purchased Prochem and hate to buy a machine that gets discontinued or something of the sort. Chances are I will be getting my contract hours upto about 30-35 a week in short order.

Tell me your set up for this......don't make money an issue but be smart.......GO!

I would first find which ones are approved by Ford as there was a time a couple of years ago when they didn't allow the mounting of a truckmount due to the modular frames of the Transit.

I love the dual sliding doors as well, but when I looked at them 2 years ago, I couldn't install a Judson TNT without voiding the factory warranty and design parameters.

I think you will have to go with a TM with an external waste tank just to spread the weight across the chassis, so units Judson's are out as are any with a water well tank.

Running 5-8 hours is hard on a machine, so it better be something simple in design with really strong vacuum for commercial hose runs. How much hose are you going to need to carry?

I don't know what that leaves you with.....probably not a lot.

I see Hydramaster got approval and you like the CDS, so maybe the Titan would be a good fit for you. I don't have any experience with them, but the specs look good....especially the 4.0 gpm rating which is vital on commercial work due to the extra flushing required.

Glad to hear things are going well. It has been dead around here for a couple of months now. Still have nothing on the schedule until the 18th when I will be cleaning for a few houses in a lake side community. At least I have a theater and a couple large buildings to clean at the end of the month to try and save my March numbers.

I was expecting far more action right now since we have been seeing some very Spring-like temperatures, but it just didn't happen. Not sure what that is going to mean when Spring really does get here......might not be good.

I heard the xdrive was not yet available to the masses. And very expensive...
I personally would lean to a DD unit. With large fresh water tank.

I am in agreement with Matt, direct drives have always worked out better for me on commercial. You don't need a large fresh water tank though as most buildings have water access near the entrance, but you do need the biggest waste tank you can get so you don't have to waste time to dump mid-job.

Prochem Everest 650 with prochem pump out, that way you can pump waste water out while you're working to eliminate stopping to dump, unless if you're planning to use the time to dump to drink some water and rest for a few minutes.

In your area that would be true Dp, but a pump out in temperatures well below freezing don't work out so well and since most commercial is at night, the Sun is no help.

I have a 210 gallon waste tank on my van and I can easily clean for 8-9 hours before filling it up.  I just clean straight through and dump on the way out.

The Hydramaster problem has been "let go"....I can comfortably make them a consideration again. The Xdrive is ready for the masses as of yesterday from what Hyrdramaster told me...its roughly $65.7k standard with the Transit, I may come in around $70ish with my set up....dealers arent doing the install yet as they havent been trained....I really like the new technology! I can have the whole rig delivered or make the drive to tour the plant if I wanted. Im still a little torn with my selection....Ive always been an early adopter and love new design when its done with the caliber Hydramaster would be doing. After some reconfiguring my Cleanco vac ports to 2.5 and then 2 to the wand Im really impressed at what its doing.....I ran the Cleanco for 6 hours straight yesterday and 7 today....not even a hiccup unless we count the guy who ran over the water hose and caused a leak. anyway....im looking towards the Hydramaster....Im not a APO guy and like a fresh water tank option...looking at doing the water tank w electric reel like I have now. Just today after me cleaning 6 of my 7 hours non stop.....I sure liked that hose to reel it up for me on the Vac side....I hand roll all pressure line as I hate the reels! ...that's the first thing I threw off the Cleanco. I will be hooking up water straight on bigger jobs and when doing the residential I like when water is ready. Im excited about this move over to the Transit AND Xdrive possibly...all new stuff. At 6 hours of straight cleaning, im ready to take a break DP....need that water as I sweat with this pace.

Rob, my runs arent as bad as I thought they were going to be, I havent been over 200 feet, and reach it all....I had to move twice for this but with a little more hose I wont have to move at all on my biggest job.

Sounds really good Scott, that unit should run 300 feet just about the same as it does at 200 ft. I don't think you will feel much drop off until you get over that mark.

I am jealous and would love to run a new unit. I guess I will be at some point this month with the box truck and Judson machine. I am looking forward to it as I roll into the commercial work at the end of the month.

Looks like they keep adding buildings to my list as well. Besides that IMAX theater, I will be running 4 nights straight with over 10,000 sqft each night. That is going to be an exhausting stretch.

Damn, $ 70 grand ? Wow, that's like $ 6+ grand just for taxes, and I thought we were crazy when we spent $ 49 grand 10 years ago for a whole new set up with blue line Thermalwave.
At this time, I would be freaking out big time to spend anything more than $ 50 grand, at that amount the set up better be close to new with under 20 k miles and under 1000 hours on the machine. Oh it also has to be an Everest 650.
Anyone know how much discount Prochem give on Prochem customer appreciation days ? 10 % ?

Post by Devon07 Fri Mar 24, 2017 7:05 am

So I pulled the trigger and will be getting my Hydramaster XDRIVE in a week or so from now. I went and demo'ed it in OKC last week and this thing seems to be engineered very well....I liked everything it had....I ordered with the electric reel (cradle) and two reels (live) that are right in front of the electric vac reel but they drop down....not sure how I will adjust to that set up but Im willing to give it a shot. Im excited about the Transit van too....the room is going to be amazing for me.....I can stand up too. Im making a transition and moving from an operator to a manager....Im going to go ahead and grow this into a full blown company....I will not be running equipment but will go to the majority of the jobs and tapper back as I see fit. I have more work lined up than I know what to do with. I'm honestly looking at possibly getting a second set up to mimic this new one so I'm all the same....I "might" have a cleanco47 van setup for sale if I do that. Hope you guys are all getting busy.

DP...you know, its the red states that are booming! I never thought much about it until you said that though. My phones are staying consistant all year....just when I think I may see a slow day or week, they fill it up. I have to schedule my time off....as a matter of fact Im going to Florida for 10 days in May to just chill with little planned....rest, eat and enjoy the ocean I miss so much.

Rob, I guess you finally went full on carpet cleaning?
