Just went to eBay, isn't it usually harder to find a used set up or even a used stand alone TM in the summer ? I just saw 3 Prochem set up and 3 - 4 Prochem TM for sale on eBay, a few of those are Everests, is the economy really that bad now ? It didn't look like it, even though business is much slower for me, interest rate is starting to creep up but it's far from high, unemployment is pretty steady I think ? I also didn't see a whole lot of "now hiring" signs that I usually see in May around here.

It has been that way around here as well. I think they are units that went for sell back during the winter, but didn't sell. It seems that most cleaners are buying new these days as it is far easier to get a loan than to find cash for the used equipment.

Maybe the rates are low for new set ups and everyone is trading in the old ones.

Maybe a lot of cleaners are going out of business What a Face

I think it is a little bit of both Mo. I associated with 4 other cleaners in my area for the last 5 years, but there is only 2 of us left. Two went under just 3 months ago.

You guys are probably right, I have my 2 vans for sale since last year and one of them was sold a few months ago and the other one hasn't had that much interest despite of a very fair price based on it's condition which is in a very good condition, in a way I can't wait to sell it and get the sapphire 870 ss but I'm kinda scared too with the way business have been going, the way I see it is if I don't get $ 24 k or something close to it, I might just hold on to it and keep working with it which I have been doing, heck I see a regular everest ( carb, not an efi ) for sale on ebay for $ 13.5 k and my van's bluebook is still close to $ 15 k.
Someone offered 15 k for my set up last month via text, I told him I can make that in a month or less with the van, why should I sell it at that price ? I also told him why didn't he just ask me if I want to donate it instead ? Lol.

I agree, even a backup unit that was pretty worn out can still make more money than it can be sold for. In a way, it makes you want to run them until dead...which I sure would except the vans start rusting out badly in this part of the country.

I kinda wish I can depreciate more of the van, it doesn't make sense that they only give depreciation for 5 years, it makes sense for the dealerships, not to us small business owners, if I can depreciate these things still, I wouldn't be trying to sell it now, oh well.
Btw I talked to another old friend ( carpet cleaner ) a few cities over, and he also said that he is much slower but he runs solo now, his brother moved to AZ, so he said it's enough business to keep him busy.
I also talked to another business owner ( he owns a house cleaning business ), he also said that he's a lot slower and he dropped Yelp out of his ads because of steep competition in LA.
Glad I'm not the only one.
How are you guys doing so far this month ? Picking up a bit than last month or it's pretty steady ?

So far, lousy. For the past 3 weeks it has felt like winter as far as jobs go. Phone has been silent for me and the other cleaner in town. He has far more money than me with a good retirement check so he just takes vacations when things are slow.

I expect / hope to see some increase soon, but it has gone cold.
