life is easier with a zero turn.....
Been wanting one, but didn't like the price. Bit the bullet and bought one anyway. Glad I did. It cut my mowing time in better than half.
Rides pretty nice too, even over rough ground. Made in the USA!

Re: life is easier with a zero turn.....
How much mowing do you have? As a kid, we lived on a 2 acre lot and my 2 brothers and I spent all weekend mowing with 2 riders and a push mower.
These days, I pour lots of cement and have an above ground garden so my mowing only takes about an hour with a push mower.
If you have a large enough area, those zero turn jobs are darn nice.

I bet my 90+ years old gardener would love that thang
But then again he might not, since my yard is like 250 - 300 sq ft, but then again he does my neighbor's homes as well, so yeah he might enjoy that.

Ha..ha..ha.... not by choice, my landlord has been using him forever, he's a white guy that can talk for hours at times, retired electric worker ( government ), once I went over to his driver seat where he was resting and caught him enjoying a hustler magazine, lmao

Yard work. I hate it, It all stems from my dad waking us up early every Saturday to do it. And if you had trouble waking up he would spray some water on your face or a little vicks in your eyes Nice guy
Hey DP your next in line when the 90 year old goes to that big lawn in the sky

Re: life is easier with a zero turn.....
I have an acre of yard. Many trees as well. This new Bad Boy Mower took me 30 minutes from start to finish.
With my John Deere tractor, it took 1.5 hours.
Gas savings to boot. Took about 2.5 gallons of fuel before, and about a half gallon now.
Man, it's SO easy to whip around the trees now! And this thing slings the cut grass like nobodies business.

An acre to mow each week.....ick. I certainly understand that purpose now. I only have about 1/4 acre these days and no obstacles.
Re: life is easier with a zero turn.....
If you have an acre to mow, why don't you just get a cow or two ? That will eliminate a lot of mowing ?

Re: life is easier with a zero turn.....
Hell, I would just plant corn. At least you would something to show for it in the fall.
Re: life is easier with a zero turn.....
Lol! I don't want to pasture animals on just a little acre of land. I don't want to plant crops either.
But I am debating planting some fruit trees. Damn deer would probably kill them though.

Re: life is easier with a zero turn.....
There are ways to keep the deer from eating the fruit, we grew a lot of apple and pear trees growing up. I wouldn't recommend it though as the rotting fruit on the ground creates a whole list of other problems.
Re: life is easier with a zero turn.....
No so worried about them eating the fruit, as much as them killing the young trees.
Deer here will eat the bark off fruit trees, and kill the tree. They do it to young maples and other smooth barked trees too.
It's not like there is no field crops to eat, they are just jerks like that.

There is a coating that you can spray onto trees that keep the deer from eating them. I forget the name of it though, but I have seen it at the farming center.
Re: life is easier with a zero turn.....
Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that.
