Dang HF...... Empty Dang HF......

Post by Matt; My carpet cleaner Thu Nov 01, 2018 7:13 pm

Today I'm doing part 1 of a theatre, and using my bonzer(felt like I was flying along).
Half way thru my HF sprayer wasn't drawing Chem like at the beginning. Had to pull out 3gl pump up sprayer- frustrating!
To hot of water and it started acting up:(
I wish.....

It does suck when they stop siphoning and you realize that it was probably not working for awhile. Even worse is when the bypass starts to fail and the solution hose fills up the tank so you are cruising along thinking that you have a lot of solution left before you realize that it is not siphoning and just filling the jug.

In their defense though, I have run the HF with 205 degree incoming water without issue and at 600 psi. They are like computers sadly, when they work they are wonderful, but when they don't you want to throw them into the river. One really needs to have at least 2 sprayers on-hand these days.

I was looking at a replacement siphons block for my HF. In my research I read: "don't go over 400 psi". AND " don't go over 180*"
-96.5% of CC go way over both criteria #s.
So what are we suppose to do? Back to pump ups Sad

There are high pressure units out there and most HF units are rated for 800 - 1,000 psi. Now the temperature applies to all of them to a point, but I always just filled my sprayer half-way with room temperature and then top it off with hot off the service line. Sure, the water coming through the solution line will be a lot hotter than 160 degrees, but it will mix with the lower temperature water in the sprayer. Never had a problem with a 205 degree setting at the machine.
