we have had a lot of issues with that ethnic group, which I try to never say as it sounds bad... even typing it here it sounds bad and I really dont want to offend anyone but sometimes it is just unbelievable

no I wont pull out your stacked washer/dryer that isnt even on carpet and clean out the 15yrs of dryer lint 2lb pile behind there when your paying me for carpet cleaning

no I wont count this 30x20 + 20x20 as one room just because you took the door off the hinges (literally this happened)

yes it will cost more if you have neon colored stains, 20 stains per room

yes it will cost more if your kids use the carpet and furniture as an art project

no these stains wont come out of your builders grade carpet that is 25yrs old that hasnt been cleaned since it was installed

no I wont move your 6000lb bed to clean the food you somehow got all over the carpet behind the headboard

sry cant haggle the price for 30minutes i have work to do today

that said we have also done some that are very nice people who have clean homes, but its 1/20 that are like that at most.

you think you have it bad, we have microsoft here.... they will try everything in the book, I consider some of them to be professional hagglers

I just try and remind myself that it is apart of their culture, in some parts of the world everything is negotiable and it is expected when buying anything

"What can you really say to this kind of person. ?"

Just like Mo said.............

Me: Sure I can do that for you and it will be XX amount is my response, and let the slimy bastard decide.

We all know the type, looking for something for nothing, or to make themselves feel like they're getting a deal by taking advantage of you.

Homey don't play that!!

And also, like others have said, I bet it's a foreigner!

I don't care if the truth offends someone, it is what it is.......and in my experience 95%+ of the time it's and Asian or middle Eastern person pulling this $hit!

It is frustrating sometimes, but I sure am glad they bring their culture with them . Smile I actually wish I was brought up to haggle more. Sometimes it works in situations you wouldn't think. Not that I want to rip people off, but a fair deal sometimes takes a little work.

I lived in another country too for a while where there were a lot of expats, believe me, Americans are even more offensive when they live in a foreign land. The "entitlement" culture doesn't go away just because they crossed a border. I'm sure I was guilty of it too.

I've learned you can't expect people to change they way they were brought up. And butter chicken and curry is so delicious!

I've been the "ugly american" a few times in foreign lands, but you do get the adjustment correct in time. I haven't encountered this issue in my area, but I do have my share of retirement homes that can get difficult....every door opens and asks you to move a table, open a jar, or clean a small rug.

I'm a sap and end up doing all those little tasks for free...makes a simple hallway clean an all morning affair. Not exactly the same issue, but similar requests for free work. It isn't tied to any ethnic group.

Hey Milspec, I'm glad you said it first. I'm that sap too Smile Guess I'm a pushover. But doing an extra here or there seems to go a long way with customer loyalty.
