I used to HATE vct flooring, everything about it. It used to take me hours to do a job, mostly because I was inexperienced and I refuse to do a crappy job. I'll stay on a task until its perfect or I find someone to "learn" me better. Anyways, after word got around that we offered vct maintenance the requests heated up. I've learned to enjoy it, stripping and waxing is slow paced, methodical and routine. There are many ways to accomplish the task but only one destination, a waxed floor so far less complicated than restoration and cc. With vct what you see is what you get. Its wax and vinyl composite... except for when its a topical sealer, then its a pia. But thankfully I can walk from those, refer them to another fool or since we sell and install, just write up a replacement estimate.

If a customer agrees to my prices, which are higher than jan/san prices, then I'm happy to do the job.

I like VCT too. The issue is, just like carpet here, too many low ball hacks have made a profitable price point impossible. I do quality work, and no one it seems, wants to pay what quality costs.

I have one VCT regular job left. If and when it finally goes, so will my VCT equipment and me offering it anymore.

I suspect my carpet cleaning will be soon taking a distant back seat to my window business soon too.

That was why at one point i was more about VCT....

When you strip, its either coming off or its not.....not like carpet where there are 10 different things that could be....

i only do a few now...but its nice having the equipment to do it.....
