Walk away, not worth it.
1. Too many eggs in one basket syndrome- if you lose the account.....
2 Not getting top dollar.
3 Filthy apt.s- Go for the high end resi market- not low end.
4 5 miles is nice, but I travel 40 if the client is going to pay my rate.( and travel, and they do)
5 Work less- make more
6 Change pricing structure to per sf.- get paid for what you do
7. Never give anybody that much info about your business.
8 Your going to wait to get paid
9 With your knowledge and diligence you need to be the #1 high end cleaner in your county.
10 Can you say bedbugs? Fleas and roaches? Yuk, not for me.

Just add the cost in.

Ask yourself if you really want the work...if not run. everyone has valid points...Im in to make money and if they want to spend it then Im good.

No, I came close to accepting the situation until they ask me how many invoices did I want to purchase? I actually was required to purchase invoices from this 3rd party in order to submit for payment.

That was the last straw for me....I walked away.

What a rip. You have to pay for the privileged of billing your customer for payment on a job already completed. I would have walked too.
