I was sadly reading that BB King is at home under hospice care right now and found myself watching some old videos of the man back in his early days....amazing to watch play and very humble about it.

Why do I bring this up under this category? In one interview he spoke about how he hires musicians and I thought it was really good advice when it comes to hiring employees. It doesn't matter if they play a horn or jockey a wand, it is good advice.

BB said that what he looks for is a 75/25 person. The first 75% is the quality of the man and the 25% the musician. In time, he felt that if he could become 50/50, he would make for a great employee.

Get Well Mr. King and plays us out.

I can practice for the next 50 years and never be able to do that.

The man is awesome and very humble about his playing. Often admits to having bad timing, stupid fingers, and doesn't know the chords very well.

After all these years, he never let his fame get to his head.
