LOL...As you guys know Im still "new" and at times need some work....I was called to do two offices with commercial carpet and the job was small....fell to my minimum charge.....the guy asked if I could strip and wax a floor.....I said sure, since I was slow and have the equipment. It was a 3500 sq ft floor and came out nice....the problem is, now that im busy Im getting calls to do more...I dont want to do them but the money is good and im pricing them to not get them....but get every one! My last estimate today was a small floor (strip n wax) for a sweet shoppe bakery type place, I was stupid enough to say a price plus two dozen exotic cupcakes....guess what? she asked what flavors! yup, another floor.

Nice!!! And I thought strip and wax margins were small. Good work.

What Ive learned here is this...no one wants to do the smaller stuff and they are deperate for someone to do it...I price heavy and if I get it ....fine! I own a scrubber and pads are cheap....I figure my rate Wink and then add product as a charge they pay. I find myself doing the larger jobs because of referals....so, whoever is doing them here must not be any good. I dont mind filling gaps of no work for now but later someones going to be unhappy.

Sounds like you stumbled on a very profitable niche there Devon. It a very time consuming service to offer isn't it ?

Sounds to me like the perfect chance to hire someone to wax floors.

The niche is there and they are willing to pay a premium price, so put a kid on the job and enjoy the cupcakes.
