I was looking at the cfm # for prochem; apex, peak, and everest w/ the tL408 blower.
All produce 406-408 cfm.
I realize one has an air cooled motor and the other liquid cooled.
But why not different levels of blowers and cfm??
HM's larger one same way.
You'd think they would crank it up to get hi 400's of cfm. Ya, I know a hose will only move X amount of cfm....

Doesn't the Everest have a larger blower option?

My guess is that it comes down to simplicity to use the same blower across the board. Realistically, anything over 400 cfm is more than enough for residential buildings where you are only out maybe 160 feet at the most.

For me, it is the GPM flow rate first, then vacuum cfm...everything else is are just minor details.

Yes Everests have 2 different blower sizes, and the reason why they put the same size blowers on those machines is selling point, people that are getting brand new machines are most likely the ones who's been in business for a while and they would want a decent size blower.

I'm one of those people that prefers better vacuum than pressures / gpm, besides most pumps for cleaning machines now has 1000 psi anyway which is way more than enough for carpet cleaning application.

True, psi means very little for TM as we rarely clean over 550 anyway. I would not discount the GPM rating so easily though as it is the indicator of your cleaning potential in the same way that a high flow wand cleans better.

The more volume of water you move, the more impact you will have on the cleaning process. Anyone who operates pressure washers will confirm that for me as the best units move at over 10 gpm.

Most quality TM units will run between 4 and 5 gpm, but there are many that are only 3 to 3.5 gpm. Try cleaning with them side by side at the same pressures and you will quickly see the difference.

Of course, you are also correct that vacuum has to increase along with the GPM or you will have a pretty wet carpet. I guess what I am really saying is that you need a good balance between the two, but I still find GPM more important....I can always add dry strokes and air movers, but I can't add greater flow from the pump.

Both the Apex and the Everest are liquid cooled engines the biggest difference is the Apex is a 3 cylinder engine and the Everest is a four cylinder. They're on the same frame and the Everest does have a option for a bigger blower. The Everest will maintain the heat better if you are dual wanding
