Pet Hair on Furn!?>$@>!
I'm fed up at this point and looking for advice.
Maybe it's the perfectionist in me, but I' spend too much time removing cat/dog hair on upholstery I clean.
And I feel like Ive tried everything!
So what is you trick to removing it, you know the fine, wirery kind that gets imbedded in fabric?..........any help to make removal quicker?

thats not the exact one we use but some have way stronger stick, grocery store near my house has really sticky ones
way easier and works much better than vacuuming with anything, gets all those damn little fuzz balls too so cleaning upholstery is way faster
Re: Pet Hair on Furn!?>$@>!
Might want to try an anti-static spray prior to cleaning. Sometimes it will allow that hair to just release into the vacuum. I used to use an anti-static prespray for this, light mist and give it a go.
Test for compatibility first of course, but it has helped me in the past.
If you are going with a tape roll...go with some military 100 mile/hr tape. I used it for decades to get my blue wool uniform ready for inspection. Just wrap some around you hand and have at it. It will grab better than any tape roll...the General would agree.
No magic bullet, but some thoughts any way.

Just bought one of these. Haven't used it yet. It all depends on what kind of fur your removing. If the dog was a short hair dog instead of one with fur, removal is very difficult as the needle like hair actually becomes part of the cushion. with fur from long hair dogs it will usually will clump up for easy removal. Qualify, qualify, qualify.

Re: Pet Hair on Furn!?>$@>!
Tape roller works, If it's strong enough stick like the ones we get you won't need to vac
Upholstery anymore
Vac ing
Upholstery really doesn't do much even with that turbo tool I posted about last year
Strong tape like
Mill spec says is what u want or you'll be picking
Lint fuzz balls all day,

An electric shaver with mustache trimmer works great on those little balls, whatever they're called.
A pilling machine or pilling remover...
I like to use the Dirt Devil hand held vacuum for pet hair...

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to thank everyone for their feedback, a lot of great suggestions that I really Appreciate!!!
I will give them a try and figure out what works best or me.
I've thought about using "Duct Tape" before, when I was using blue painters tape (with little success), but was always worried the duct tape would leave a sticky residue on the fabric?......is that not really an issue??
And just to confirm, the real problem I have is not with the regular fluffy pet hair that's easily removed with brushing and vacuuming, but rather the real wiry/pointy type that gets imbedded/woven into fabric that can't be vac'ed out.

Ever get those quils from a cactus in your hand? Duct tape pulls them really well. I have never left any adhesive residue behind using tape. I make a loop out of around my hand and lightly brush the fabric to remove hair. For the sharp imbedded type, apply a strip and peel off very quickly...it works well.
Joe is correct, though, it is very slow. I think it still looks professional when lightly brushing..no different then cleaning with a terry towel in my view.

A few years back you turned me on to the Bissell Pet Eraser hand held Vac. Worked great on Upholstery, which lead me to order some attachments Bissell Pet Pack Vacuum Attachments, 3260. They work great with my Backpack.
The conversation at that time was how rubber at the head of the vac inlet attracted the Pet hair. Many suggestions were put forth. I still use those attachments and the wife took over the hand held Vac for home use. Both are under $30.00 and when needed the adhesive roller.
Re: Pet Hair on Furn!?>$@>!
I did buy one of these today while cleaning the entry of a pet store. It is just a lint brush in a mit form, but they spoke pretty highly of it. For the couple of bucks it cost, seems worth the try.

yup, if it vacs out then no problem. The roller is for the static clung or stuff thats woven in a bit. Its the only thing that works for me, you can use a turbo pet tool all day it will never come off. So at that point the options are leave it which looks real bad, hand pick it off which takes all day, or get the tape roller and be done fast.
Im not big on vacuuming upholstery, sounds funny but its a pain and really doesnt remove much. I always hose cuff all the cracks, then tape roll gets all the lint fuzz, hair etc. Just personal experience but ive found it faster and easier than vacuuming, ill run through like 5 layers on a couch. Just one of those small cheap tools that gets the job done, not too worried about how it looks to the customer... just my opinion
Mil spec, ive tried a mitt kinda like that one but it fills up with hair fast then you have to remove the hair from it.
Re: Pet Hair on Furn!?>$@>!
I expect that will be the case with the glove, but like all lint brushes, you just have to purge them by combing in reverse from time to time.
Still, I go with the tape method mostly myself too. It just gets the job done and cheaply to boot.
