Are we hoarders Empty Are we hoarders

Post by Mo Sat Jul 26, 2014 8:11 am

I believe all homosapiens are hoarders in one degree to another.

I recently moved and had to rent a 20 foot box truck just to to my stuff to the dump and that's after donating and selling some stuff.

I've been dragging around my 750 honda shadow that I haven't ridden in 15 years all because it was the first bike i bought as a young 20 year old. I have acquired cleaning stuff that I don't get rid of cuz I might need it some day.

Moral of the story. Get rid of your junk you'll feel so much better. What have you been hoarding?

Unnecessary tools! I see something on craigslist and I must have it. I have had them all.

The only cure for me is to stop checking craigslist and be happy with the stuff I have. I just can't turn down a good deal on a total piece of junk I will never use.

I've said it before. I used to be a chemical hoarder. Got connected with Joe and the 55 gallon drum of versatile soil and oils. No more. I threw out two bottles today while clean the office today. I kept one fine fabric gallon of prochem that I'm sure I'll never use. For some reason I talked myself into saving. Crazy!

I qualify for that Title. As far as Chem's I also have reduced the variety since switching to Joe's products.
I really need to purge and thin down. Maybe soon I'll post some stuff on the classified section.

I have auto parts scattered everywhere for vehicles that I sold off decades ago. Just too much stuff everywhere.

I envy you Mo, the only time I really get all the clutter removed is when I've moved. I would love to take back my space, but I need time first...probably a winter project this year.

Yes me too. I have a 3 car garage and can only squeeze 1 car in. Mine is tools, I have half of harbor freight in my garage. After I do a purge and clean up I feel so much better and never miss the stuff I threw away.

I have a rule. It's the 10 year rule.
Anything that has not been used in the last ten years off to the tip or gets donated.
Cheers

Good rule to have George. The only things I keep longer are things I have an emotional attachment to. One is my motorcycle the other is a jewelry box I made in the 7th grade I cant get myself to throw that away.
