Old Quad Revisited

Old Quad Revisited
I was challenged with 2 apartments today that were both angry evictions. The tenants punched holes in the walls, ripped doors off the hinges, pushed the fridge over, and urinated on the carpets. It wasn't pretty, let's just say that.
The Property Manager gave me a little pep talk and turned me loose to try and save them. Went to the van and realized that I forgot my PMF Ti wand and only had my old Prochem Quad with HSK on-board. Oh well, it was always my favorite wand on berbers and would have to do on these trashed polyesters.
I went with the hard stuff on this one (Extreme Clean spiked with some OSR), CRB scrub, and then the PCQ wand. I know that CTI hates it when I suggest spiking anything with OSR, but that combination has worked wonders when I needed the nuclear option and this was one of those situations.
What surprised me was not the chemistry, but the wand. I forgot just how good that wand can be. At only an 8-flow and hsk, it was very effective and enjoyable to have all that weight on the carpet. I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed using it after using titanium for the last 4 years.
The only flaw was that the hsk sits pretty low on that low-profile wand so you have to be careful not to drag the jets on the carpet. Other than that, the 12 inch heavy head and great lift was just the ticket on these apartments. Just think, I nearly dumped that wand years ago...so glad that I didn't.
Has anyone used Joe's VT12? Is it like the PCQ profile? I am really wanting to take the pro's of the PCQ with better clearance for the shear kits. Does that wand exist?

Re: Old Quad Revisited
I am in the market for a nice 2in tube/ 12in head wand soon. We only have 14s which are the best for most situations but sometimes in that townhome/condo with no furniture moving, you need a 12in
Re: Old Quad Revisited
Love my VT 14. Have not used my pc quad since then. About 1 year. Used it for 7 years. Crazy. I picked it up today to replace jets, etc.. to use as a back up. It is a heavy son of a witch. Cannot believe I used that and did not know any better.
Re: Old Quad Revisited
I agree Gerry, I was cursing when I carried it up 3 flights and was regretting my mistake leaving my other wands behind, but man did it ride nice on that poly...maybe it was the urine.
I wouldn't want to sling it all day long, but it performed well enough to make me forget that 15 incher. I think a good 12 is still very relevant today in apartments, condos, etc.
