On-site printing
Anyone printing receipts on-site for the customer?
I currently just email the invoice to them on-site from my phone or sometimes will wait until I get back to the office if the place is an empty, but I would like to start carrying a small laptop and just print out the invoices or job contracts on-site.
The last time that I tried that, all there was were thermal paper printers and the quality was terrible. Now I see that there are some pretty small ink jets out there and was wondering if this might be a worthwhile option again.
Is it worth the effort and what printers work well?

Re: On-site printing
I looked into it, theres some nice mobile printers made by brother
just decided it wasnt worth the hassle since everything is going paperless these days anyways
get a tablet instead and have the documents on there, customer can sign them just like paper then send them to their email. its cheaper than a laptop and mobile printer

I did think about the tablet, but I have no experience with them. I guess I should look at that option as well.

Why don't you keep some 2 part invoices in your van / truck ?
Also if you email all of your customers their invoices, how do you get them to sign the work order and / or disclaimer on some things you're cleaning to cover your behind from lawsuit ?
I usually email them if they request it but still ask for work order signature since I live in a sue happy state

I still use a receipt book if the customer is present, but most of the time they are empties. Their payment is my confirmation of satisfaction and they are presented with disclaimer and job details in a pre-job email when the job is scheduled.
I just hate writing receipts, it feels really unprofessional to me. Not to mention my handwriting is worst than any doctor, so it makes things that much worse.
