Inventory Tracking
I'm still using a simple spreadsheet for my inventory management and really need to improve this part of the business moving forward. What are you guys using? Any good software out there that you would suggest that isn't too complicated?
Re: Inventory Tracking
You're way ahead of me with my eyeball tracking s4ystem. lol

Re: Inventory Tracking
No software here, just a manual checking once every 2 months or so, I usually stock things used regularly way more than I should so that I won't run out before it's time to order more chemicals / supplies.

Re: Inventory Tracking
I'm really surprised by this, not even for your equipment and tools? Even if just for an insurance report, it would be valuable.
My tools / equipment are over 4 pages long now (mostly testing equipment and filters) and the chemicals are pretty close to that.
I expected to hear about some great organizational program, but maybe I am not in that bad of shape. Still, there must be a good industry-specific program out there....there are so many cleaning businesses out there that there must be a marketed program.
Maybe I just gave somebody an idea for a new product?
Is it too late to learn computer programming?

Re: Inventory Tracking
Nope, never too late to learn something, computer programmer can make 6 figures easily too, hey may be you can hook us all up with the best cleaning company's software when you become one.
Notice I said "when" and not "if", feel the pressure yet ? Lol.

Subtle...very subtle.
Re: Inventory Tracking
Ill admit we have no real inventory system but are at the point where we can buy in large bulk and just keep an eye on it if its getting low.
Something I do want to get good at because Im leaning towards trying to start a small side thing selling items on internet/ebay

Re: Inventory Tracking
I was cleaning out my fridge today and in the back were 4 unopened tubs of butter...some had actually expired. That is why I try to keep track of the inventory stock....I always think that I am running low when away from the house and end up with far too much stock for my business.
Who the hell needs 1,000 blue booties for heaven's sake? Apparently, I thought that I did.

Re: Inventory Tracking
I forgot I do actually have a system, been doing it so long, and it's so simple and efficient it's second nature so it didn't even come to mind when I read this thread.
I use the "Notes" app on my phone, and I have a running note I use to add to as I run out of things, or think of something I need. Been doing it so long it's the first thing I think of when I notice I'm getting low on something. Then when I order supplies I just look at my note for what's needed.......There's no way I can just 'remember' anymore, that doesn't seem to work.
