Ryan's bung hole
Ryan on your 55 gallon drum on the video. You have the pump installed on the barrel. I have the same pump but my bung hole is too big. Did you have some kind of adapter in place or is your bung hole just smaller than mine?
Re: Ryan's bung hole
Some topic! Should we ask for pictures. Really. You can still pump out without it being screwed on. I just hold the pump base with one hand and prime with the other.

Re: Ryan's bung hole
Quite the topic, bung holes.... Having a bung hole that is too large, well, could be a bad thing. But I don't think so in this situation. If your bung hole was too small, you would not be able to push your pump in it. With a big bung hole, you do not need to ream out the hole, or otherwise find a way to access it.
One thing in the future you may want to try, is saving a plastic bung and having a hole the same size as your pump shaft drilled in it. A hole cutter that works for wood, will work fine on a plastic bung. It will stop your shaft from slopping around in the hole, so much.
Hope that all helped.

Re: Ryan's bung hole
Oh, so your bung hole is the same size as mine. I was thinking that my bung hole was all stretched out. Maybe there is an adapter for Joe's huge bung hole.
Re: Ryan's bung hole
Grainger has bung adaptors, or drum pump adaptors. It's hard to stay on topic with this one.

I am pretty sure bung holes are about all the same size (Universal).Fuzzsucker wrote:Oh, so your bung hole is the same size as mine. I was thinking that my bung hole was all stretched out. Maybe there is an adapter for Joe's huge bung hole.
Though I must admit, I have seen pictures of large bung holes on the net, that seemed unreal. Never seen one personally that was larger than any other. Then again, I am not a certified bung hole inspector either.

Re: Ryan's bung hole
Well my bung hole fits. But I have pulled out my pump from the bung hole.

I have traveled to Lake Titicaca, and consulted The Great Cornholio regarding this matter.
He says you will need TP for your Bunghole.

This is one funny thread and this is the one instance we don't want to see a picture or video. Sorry OP
Re: Ryan's bung hole
I think you might of posted on the wrong site, Joe. Sounds more like a post for YouPorn to me!! :geek:Joe Bristor wrote:I brought in 5 of those hand pumps that Ryan had in his video.
I was hoping one of you guys could figure out how to screw it into the bung hole.
U-Line website certainly leaves it to the imagination.
It would take a fist sized adapter to screw into that bung hole tightly.
Nevertheless, the video shows it pumps just fine - even though it's sloppy loose.
Key Words: hand pump, screw, bung hole, fist sized, screw into that bung hole tightly, (wow!) and sloppy loose?!? Common seriously, wrong site!?!

Re: Ryan's bung hole
Update on bung holes. The drum has two bung holes. One is larger course thread the other is standard two inch fine thread which the pump fits in perfectly. Its hard to notice but one of them is labeled nps Thats the one you wanna use.
And just for good mesure...BUNG HOLE!
Last one I promise.

Re: Ryan's bung hole
Here is the link for that pump. $28 at the time of this post. Works for denser items as well. A little slower than Ryans pump but alot less messy for my clumsy hands. Fills a gallon in about 9 pumps. A must for joedercide where every ounce spilt is money lost.
