What's your favorite tile tool?
So far I've used the mytee spinner, sx-12, sx-15, and turbo Hybrid. My favorite is the turbo hybrid, it has the best feel to it and you can definitely tell it the best build quality of all the spinners made.
Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
I have the turbo hybrid also and its great for open spaces but am leaning toward the Gekko with the 14" brush head and swap out the 01 jets for 02"s . This is my next project .
Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
I use an old spinner tool that Mytee first marketed. Not the sx line. Just bought a brush attachment for it. Had to reinforce it and modify it over the years but it still cleans great. Tried to post a pic from computer, anybody know how?

I could not get a picture to load from computer but it will from photo bucket . Just copy and paste the url . Maybe someone with more computer sense will tell us how .

If you want to upload a picture from your computer click the " Host and Image" icon its close to the Youtube Icon.
When you click on the Host and Image Icon you'll get a pop up box just click browse and find the pic that you want to upload then click the little hos button and the bottom and wait a couple of seconds you'll get another pop box with the link to different sizes of the picture, just click copy for one of those links and then right click and paste in the body of the message were you want the picture
Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
I tried that then got an email from the company hosting the upload and said my account had been setup . Looks kinda like a photo bucket website to store images .
Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
turbo hybrid 15" for me personally.
I seem to be mostly doing commercial t&g anyway
for when I clean resi .. the places that I cant get the 15" to fit, neither will the 12"
so out comes the hand held spinner

Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
I've always been the caveman on t&g preferring to use agitation over water pressure. I've seen too much grout get blown out by pressure over the years. So, I use the Orbot and a grout brush along with a sx-12 to rinse after.
If I was going to use a spinner only, that turbo-hybrid looks like the best tool. I was very impressed with the time that I spent behind one durning a demo., but it was on new tile and grout. I would still be very concerned using it at high psi on an old floor with weak grout.

hey Mil
try increasing the jet size and lowering the psi. I doubled the flow on my turbo and wow!
went from 1501 to 0502 jets

Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
I have a Hydramaster ???? something. I bought it in 2001 and it has no markings on it to remind me what I bought way back then. We still use it almost everyday. Never bought or used anything else, mainly because I never needed to use anything else for tile and grout cleaning.

Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
I like my WestPak so far, just got it from Joe a couple of weeks ago. Personally I despise the ergonomic triggers on most of the tile clening tools

Nice idea there sir, I didn't think about that. I am still in the market for a replacement tool (next month) since my old one was stolen, so I am all ears guys.
Keep us up to date on that westpak spinner too, it is definately in the running right now....I don't like ergo triggers either.

Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
if i was buying a new spinner today. it would definitely be the turbo force.
i own a gecko w/ 14 in head as well as a sx15.
the sx 15 has a design flaw of the solution line inside the tube. the solution line vibrates against the stainless steel and causes its to squirt a mess. as well as when cleaning close to walls it misses about 3/4 of an inch.
the positive of the tool is the easy change out of rings, the adjustable vac relief, dry times are good as well.
sorry for the lack of capitals. my shift button broke.

Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
Just got the pmf tile wand. Will try it out soon, doesn't matter though anything is better than a gecko!

Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
tell me about it!
my darn gecko falls apart if I run my truck at anything above idle and 150' of hose...
look forward to your review
did a ton of residential tile today this bathroom was the only area bright enough to film in
Love the 15" turbo

Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
Just make sure to install the squegee on that wand. Great tool for basement floors after a flood or sewer back-flows.Dave C wrote:Just got the pmf tile wand. Will try it out soon, doesn't matter though anything is better than a gecko!
Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
I have tried several spinners, the Gekko, and one other Mytee wand over the years. I have gone back old school with my trusty low speed with a nylo-grit brush, cleaning solution, and a mop and bucket.

Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
My favorite spinner is the sx-12 I paid 50 bucks for on craigslist. The guy had no idea what he had.
All right Joe you're having way too much fun with the Emoticons at least use them in context

Re: What's your favorite tile tool?
I had to purchase a Mytee spinner today for a few upcoming jobs. It was not my first choice, but it was what was available on short notice. I like the aluminum plate on top...the rest, not as much.
Will find out if it is a keeper by this weekend, if not, might have one for sale;)
