With my transition on the horizon to go from a heavy commercial cleaner to a more residential cleaner, I have been looking at how to improve my social network presence. While looking at the usual suspects (AL, Yelp, etc.) I stumbled upon a resource that I have never heard anyone discuss before.

This is a local community based network that will directly link you to your immediate area. Have you ever wanted to target the customers within a few miles of you, but wasn't certain how? This just might be a very good way to do it.

I jumped on it and found them covering a pretty good area and there were many people already recommending plumbers and dentists, so the same ahould hold true for cleaners.

This is what I have been trying to accomplish, getting your customers to be your salesman in a very direct way. Instead of reading reviews from people you don't know, you get recommendations from those that you do know. It doesn't get stronger than that.

yup were on nextdoor. I got a job from it but maybe should spend more time with it.

its a good resource for all sorts of stuff, like crime in your neighborhood... thats what most of the posts seem to be about along with lost pets etc.

I should have known AC was already up to speed.....I am so far behind the curve with these things, I thought I stumbled upon a good little secret.

Might have to talk about the day my van was broken into and my tools left scattered across the yard when I came home. What tools you say neighbors? Why my carpet and upholster cleaning tools.....yes, that is what I do for a living. (insert hook and pull)

Dave was talking about that next door thing a few months ago and I got an invitation email from them about 2 weeks ago, haven't yet to sign up. I'll check it out one of these days.

It's a great free referral network for those who participate in it, and also which you really have no control over. But, still I've gotten 6-8 good jobs from it in the last couple months..
