Sell offs have started early

It is bad enough to see Christmas lights already in my area, but there are 2 carpet cleaning companies shutting down and selling off already as well. Normally, winter slow down claims about 3 businesses every year around here, but to see 2 of them before the first frost is a bad sign.

Even worse for them, they think that the business is worth far more than the sum of their equipment, but without valid contracts or name recognition / internet standing....they are not worth squat beyond the equipment. There are a couple of good deals in there, but nothing that I really need right now, so I will not be shopping.

It does make me a little nervous now that the temps have dropped to light jacket weather. It is going to be a long and slow winter which I am not fully prepared for at this point. If I am going to survive until the Spring, I need to have a decent October and November. My minimum goal for October is already half-way met on the schedule, but I fear the snow coming in early and killing my November.

If you are new around here, you will see that I really hate the winter season around here. If I had the money, I would have relocated to a warmer climate years ago, but my family is here and my ill Father doesn't look to survive past this year. After that, I might be looking to move and try my luck starting over again.

Just hate this time of year.....

I have a feeling its going to be a cold one in my area. This year was the 5th wettest monsoon in history and the mosquitos are every where and allergies are starting. At least the cold weather will get rid of the mosquitos

I feel so bad for the Reputable companies when they go under.  In ca. It's usually on a very sad note but I have had some success in offering 3 co. In the last few years 5% commission on any  of their customers they refer to my  co.  It seems to be a win win for us both.

I agree, there are some good people that go under. Often, through no fault of their own, just bad luck.

Yeah, I gave my buddy 30% a while back, he wasn't expecting that, now I know why, lol.

5% one shot only...then they are mine....say you have a low database. .5000 clients. 5000x200=1 million. Our job average is 274.00.  So let's go low and call it 200.00. That's how we get to a million. So over the next 5. To 6 years we convert their database to ours 1 million times 5% = 50000.00. Abut 10000.00 a year for your dead company.  Now truthfully it never works that perfect. But hey we do our best...who could ask for more.

Next I see a van with equipment for sale I might have to do a little to see if there closing down
