Financial advisor.
I just passed my state exam today and by the end of the week if not early next week I'm legally able to sell investment products, I used to think life insurance is a bunch of scams, the truth is, most life insurance products are investment, not saying that it's for everyone, but I'm learning how much annuities can be a VERY GOOD investment for our old days, let's face it we're not going to push that wand much pass 60 or 65 years old ?
If any of you feel the need to invest, let me know if you have any questions, not trying to sell anyone anything, I'm sure each state has different regulations anyway, but if I can help with your decision, I'd be happy to spend some time answering your questions.

Re: Financial advisor.
Congratultions, I have a few other friends in that line of work as well. I even sat down with one of them 2 years ago and wrote a plan, but my money these days is just going to keep the lights on and food in the fridge....not much left after that.
Sadly, I will not be a guy who will be living off annuities in his senior years. Actually, I really don't expect to make it past 60 before developing ALZ like both my Father and Grandfather did. That leaves about 15 or so years left of good health.
Not a lot of time when you think about it.

Thank you Bob ! You sir need to start buying lottery tickets
On the bright side you own your home, you could some day do the reverse mortgage thing ? I don't know much about that but the ads look good

I don't own much, but I do own my home. I have bad odds on the lottery, but I can always hope for a Zombie Apocalypse, then it will not matter. The rich will be the ones with lots of ammo...I am well invested there.
Re: Financial advisor.
Great news DP. Congratulations.
I already have money rolling into 401K, have whole life - life insurance, and am looking at investing in some stocks this year.
Like Rob, I'm heavily invested in lead.

Re: Financial advisor.
Thanks James, if I may suggest, you should do Roth IRA instead of 401k, it yields more but the cap is $ 5500 / year, not sure if you can swap some of your 401k into that, but even if you can't, opening a new Roth in addition to your current 401k is definitely an option I wouldn't ignore, when I do the math of investing $ 5500 / year when you're 40 yo and cash in when you're 65, 25 years @ $ 5500 / year is $ 137,500. Your cash value is $ 450,000+
I'm pretty sure by then it doesn't mean much but as a retirement addition that you can invest in annuity would be a pretty good monthly chunk.

Re: Financial advisor.
I second the Roth IRA and remember that if you are a LCC, you can double your investment. Personal account and one corporate investment account.
Re: Financial advisor.
I am in a Roth too. I'm not maxing out yet, but hopefully soon.
I don't have a LLC, I'm a S.P.
Thank you though, for the advice. It is sound advice.

I haven't being maxing it out either the last couple of years. I'm sure we are not alone.
