You know it is hot when you turn down jobs
It was 101 degrees today with humidity in the 65% ring. In other words, it sucked. I just finished cleaning the carpets at a two story home and loaded up the tools. The customer handed me the check and then asked if the furniture was cleanable?
It was 3 pieces upstairs and 4 pieces downstairs. I was already drenched in sweat and had a dehydration headache pounding away. Had she asked me earlier, I would gladly have taken the job, but to pull everything back out again to reach the 200 feet was just too much for me at the time.
I suggested we set up another appointment for early next week which she agreed to, but was not willing to commit to a date and time....just said that she would call me. More than likely she will change her mind by then.
Maybe I am getting old, but I just didn't want to start all over again.

The heat, and just packed up hoses and she wants a rug done. Nope. Another day.

Glad to see I am not alone on this one. Once I got home and cooled off, I was questioning my decision, but I would have been cussing 2 hours later if I had.

How irritating is that? She couldn't have asked while you were cleaning? She was probably considering it the whole time and figured that was her last shot to get it done the same day.
I would have done the same thing. Kind of surprising for you though being superman and all You're human like the rest of us

I would've done it, lol.
Cause if I hadn't, I would've beat myself up in the winter when I thought about that moment

If I had a helper, I would have done it as well. I guess that is another reason to have a helper.
It was a first for me, but under those same conditions, I would likely do it again...unless I was hungry.
