And away we go
I booked a 3rd job for this week and was starting to feel like some good changes were coming. Then I got crushed by emails from 4 different managers at my commercial account trying to set up cleaning dates for 4 buildings.....some as early as Thursday. I couldn't decipher all the mess as the dates were flying all over the place, so that will need correction in the morning. Bottom line will be good news and 4 nice large buildings.
There is another award competition in this area for "Best Attraction" so I think somebody finally realized that saving money on cleanings may not have been such a good idea for their reputation.
Should be a pretty good month....or at least a very busy 2 weeks and sure comes at the right time.

Re: And away we go
Well, that's great news Rob.
I had a job today, that I have to go back tomorrow to finish. I did not quote the job high enough, and I guess it was one of those jobs that you get a free lesson for your stupidity. So it's money rolling in for August, but not what it should have been.

Re: And away we go
I hate those lesson jobs, man, did one last month when my solution hose melted the wax on a wood floor. I laid down a double layer of moving blankets and was only running 200 degrees at the truck, but there it was anyway.
Re: And away we go
Awesome news Bob! I knew thing would turn around for you. Was one of those the commercial account we talked about last week?
Melting something with my solution hose is a nightmare of mine. Luckily I don't think Im running more than 180 ATW.
I would venture to say you were more than 200 degrees
I hat under bidding a job. You tend to do the work with a pissed of look on your face

Re: And away we go
It is that account Mo, it sounds like the various managers are taking matters into their own hands....sort of cleaning coup.
I had the joy of cleaning a house this morning while a franchise (think magic water) arrived to clean the neighbor's house. That cleaner was done in 30 minutes (3 bedroom, stairs, and living room) while I did the same style of house in just under 2 hours.
Funniest part is that the house I cleaned was previously cleaned by that same "other cleaner" 2 weeks ago, but the results did not make my customer happy. I left a card with the neighbor before I left....might get a call from that one too if the 30 minutes is any indication.
In their defense, they have lowered their prices again (3rd time this Summer) and announced a "3 room for $99" deal. Business must be hurting them as well.

I would love to see an endorsement like that Matt...or any endorsement for that matter, but they are not allowed to give me any testimonials of any kind. Well, I can become a Corporate Donor and then I would be included in the newsletters, but I don't have the $10,000 laying around right now.
Re: And away we go
Well, I should've read this posting before I posted a response on the other one, lol.
I'm glad to hear things are picking up, we actually hit over $ 1000 day a couple of times in the last couple of weeks too, which hasn't happened that much at all this year.
Our biggest commercial account that always do it monthly in the past 3 years decided to skip last month, hopefully they don't skip again this year.

Re: And away we go
Skipping months has become a problem for me. That is really my fault for carrying 75% of my income with just one contract, so I need to change that going forward.
I just hope the coup wins and I end up with a much more aggressive cleaning program...especially as we go into contract negotiations in October.

Re: And away we go
I would negotiate that contract on a sliding scale. The less cleanings they do that year the more expensive the cleaning will be
Re: And away we go
I feel the same way. I reminded this manager that it had been 3 months since this area had been cleaned, she didn't take it well and became defensive so I didn't push.
Will see how she approaches things for a couple of months.
