protectors question
So I have a new customer that is buying a new piece of furniture with linen fabric.
She wants protector put on it.
Loooong time since I dealt with linen.
Is a water based protect O.K?

Re: protectors question
I would think that a solvent-based protector would be best on linen....especially if it is a light tone. Anything else could soak in too much and darken the fabric.
Re: protectors question
Ugh, I would personally decline the request, politely of course, just let him / her know that linen is already difficult to clean and protector is just going to help lightly ( I could be wrong there but let me splain ).
Imagine he / she or their kid spills hot chocolate on the couch the following week / month, and they call you and you can't get the stains out, let's face it linen sucks we know that, but the customer thinks you didn't scotchgard it properly and they end up firing you.
But that's just me. Or may be I just hate linen that much, lol.

Re: protectors question
I actually hate protector that much. I don't sell it much at all, just don't really believe in the stuff on poly fabrics, plus there is the risk of allergic reactions.
I believe in cleaning and clean it again when it gets dirty. I don't scotchguard all my clothing, just wash it when it gets dirty.
