This is exactly why I do not clean rental properties any more.

I went to clean a small rental home this morning. It was empty and only a 2 bedroom house, so it was going to be a quickie. The owner told me that the carpet was only 2 years old and despite a few stains was in very good condition.

As I was setting up, I spotted a bed bug on my left shoe! I pointed it out to the owner who told me that was the reason he was having the carpet cleaned.

I hastily removed my gear and gave him a lecture about the proper way to deal with bed bugs and to not call another carpet cleaner. What really upset me was that he was already told by an exterminator that carpet cleaning would not solve the problem, yet here I was.

I will not clean rentals again....they are off my list for good.

That's an item I would mention at our Monday morning get to gether, of carpet cleaner. He wouldn't be able to hire anyone!!!! Have to rent a machine and do it himself! That would teach him

Unfortunately, I already gave him the business card of the kind gentleman who was giving me low-ball bids on my equipment.

Remind me to not piss you off !! Lol

Yeah bed bugs and roaches are off limits for me, if I see them, I would definitely pull out and tell them to call a pest control first and give me the receipt from them that they already treated the home.

Jackass wasn't even going to mention it to you either. Not all rentals are thay way though

True they are not all like that, but in this area most rentals are owned by one guy....he has 142 rentals near me.
