VT 14 Wands
I have 2 available. Both have extra jet bars. Both in good working order. I'll post some pics. I guess they are worth about $700.

Not really. The guys on the van dont have the skills for a wand like that. It seems like a dumb statement. But its true. I've tried for years to teach these kids how to clean with it, but they just can't. Youth of America. I'm not on the van anymore, kinda had to get off when we opened the restoration division.

Re: VT 14 Wands
So true about the youth of today, their skill-sets and work ethic are both minimal.
So, you are more in the sales department now?

Re: VT 14 Wands
I have shifted my role with the Carpet/House Cleaning department into more of a Director. I have a manager in place with the House Cleaning, still tying to find a TRUE Lead Carpet Tech. If and when I find the individual they would manage the day in and day out duties.
I hired my Dad to literally follow the two carpet techs and make sure the get the job done correctly. (its that bad) These guys are in their 20's. One lives his life out in cyberspace, the other just flounders his way through life with out any desire for personal growth into the world of being an adult contributor to society. Basically stuck in HS.
My main responsibility is with the restoration division, where I am in a sales role. I do the estimating, and currently have a project mgr in training. He is doing a great job. Just need to get him some more training with estimating and some Certifications under his belt.
The last several years have been a lot of fun, but have carried with it a good bit of stress in putting all the pieces together. Sill a ways to go, but I feel we are making the right moves.

Re: VT 14 Wands
Ryan I think it's awesome that you have grown so much. I hope you continue onward and upward!
Finding good people is everyone's problem. The current crop of Millennial's is one sad case. They all seem to be lazy, unmotivated and "privileged". I have yet to see a handful with any good work ethics. They all seem to do nothing but flap their lips, avoid working, and think they should make 100K a year for just showing up to work occasionally.

Re: VT 14 Wands
Sounds like you really got that business roaring along...well done!!
You might have to look for older employees or Vets to find any work ethic these days.

Re: VT 14 Wands
The market is good for the 360's, not sure about the wands though. People seem to become loyal to the one that they are using unless looking to expand.
Re: VT 14 Wands
Its true what you say about todays youth but the reason this is the case is because they are now exposed to sooo many people making a living without breaking their back doing manual labor.
These kids dont want to wake up at 6am and do yard work all day, and honestly I dont blame them.

Re: VT 14 Wands
I think they are just brain-washed by entertainment more than anything else.
When I was a kid, we were told that the only way to make a good living was by going to college and getting a degree. We all did that and decades later everybody seems to have a degree and waiting tables due to the commonality of having a degree. So, they get told that you need an advanced degree to stand out, so they all run up more student loan debt to get a Masters until there is an over-saturation of them as well. I just cleaned for a lady living in a 1 bedroom apartment who spent 25 years in college and holds 2 Phd's and 1 MBA yet is working as a receptionist for an insurance office....and owes over $400,000 in student loans.
Meanwhile, the kid that became a welder, plumber, carpenter, etc. is making really good money and is in high demand yet television and movies make those people out to be morons and lesser people than the educated bums.
Personally, I would rather have a hard worker than one with advanced degrees any day. At some point, that reality is going to sink in and you will see less kids going to college...and making a good living.

Re: VT 14 Wands
Im sure there is more to that lady's story with her 2 phDs working as a receptionist.
debt is not fun thats for sure... but honestly If I had a kid I would push him to get an education and then maybe start his own business.
I would not direct him towards the world of manual labor.. not saying there is anything wrong with it, but there is better ways of making money than trading your time/labor for it.

Re: VT 14 Wands
I think the mistake for many is that they follow the path someone else tells them they should take instead of the one that they want to take. Some are not cut out for physical labor and many are simply not cut out for owning a business either. I am at my happiest working with my hands instead of pushing paper around a desk...especially when working outside.
That lady's degrees were: Phd in Chemistry; Phd in Botany; and MBA in Entymology. She went straight into college after high school and never left, only to find out that people aren't hiring people in their mid-40's with no work experience. She told me that she gets a lot of interviews, but here competition all have advance degrees these days...and work experience. So, she answers the phone for a living for an insurance salseman who inherited his business from his Father...and has a BA in General Studies.
Now about those wands....

A lot to be said about CHOOSING not to hold a job in your career path while attending school. It screams Houston We Have A Problem. No personal drive to achieve. Which is way at age forty all she has is classroom experience and no real world application. Same goes now days about all those professional Unemployment Careers that have been out there for the last 10 years.
Hey! these wands look like a pretty good pick up..........

I agree fully, as an employer I would not be impressed with that resume.
Re: VT 14 Wands
Hey Ryan, have you tried Craigslist ? I’ve sold a few things there, it may take a while but it usually works.
Btw, I think you forgot to pay your web hosting, your web sites are down, I’ve had mine taken by Chinese companies that acquire those expired websites and try to resell them for a lot of $$, I said forget it, a year later they let that go and I got it back for $ 10, lol.
