HX??? water dumping
How many cleaners have changed there truckmount to dumping water in there fresh water tank instead of your recovery tank? If so any problems with it ? and what brand of truckmount do you have. I have a boxer 421 thinking bout changing mine . Any thoughts would be appreciated

Yes I have seen this done. I've seen a prochem legend SE done this way, and the White Magic pro 1600 & 1800 were built this way but they were setup with a winter and summer connection for the dump line. The main thing you have to watch for is as the water is dumped into the fresh water tank it will heat the water up and the lower the water in the tank gets the hotter it gets. This can cause over heat issues. The boxxer 421 doesn't dump a lot of water normaly so if your dumping a lot of water. 1 check the RPMs they should be 3000 under a load. 2 Vac relief should be set at 14 hg under full load. 3 check the thermal dump valve on the water Bx. if it dumps to soon it would be hard to tell because it dumps out the same place in the waste tank you have to separate them one is high press. One is low press. Disconnect the low press. line and run the TM as usual if the low press. Has water coming out before it bypasses normaly the the thermal valve is bad.

Or you may have some grit in the dump valve causing it to not close all the way, or not at all. Thanks Eddie.

Re: HX??? water dumping
Just about to do the same thing.
Bought a Derale Copper core transmission cooler. Will attach cooler to front of radiator and when solenoid opens to dump hot water it will run thru cooler first before returning to the fresh water tank. This should stop the fresh water tank getting to hot.

Sharp thinking. I don't know how long the water will spend in the hx, but most transmission coolers will drop it 50 degrees, so you should be in the ballpark.
Re: HX??? water dumping
That is a good idea. Unless you have a lot of water dumping the volume of water the heater core holds would help cool down and air movement would do more. Just keep your outlet line the same size as it is now because the press. in the heater core is what causes heat transfer for cooling.
Again good idea hope it works for you

Re: HX??? water dumping
OK l have finally finished my modifications we were talking about. l thought l would put up a few photo's so you can see how it was done.
The first photo is of my regular control panel engine temp, hour meter, and oil pressure down right side. RPM and digital water temp on left side.
Next picture is of my Carel digital temp gauge. These are fully programmable and accurate. Very easy to set water temp for job by pressing SEL button and using up - down arrows.
Connected relay to temp gauge output to turn solenoid on and off.
You can see T piece on hot water output. The bypass runs first thru an adjustable needle valve so you can control bypass flow. It then comes to the Dema solenoid and onto cooler.
Copper cored cooler mounted on radiator to cool hot water before entering unloader valve bypass line and returning to fill tank.
Last image shows an extra switch added to control panel. You can override the temp gauge and open solenoid to bypass manually
