This really is a good thing we have here. Just need a whole lot more of it.

Andy wins the December contest for his Hillbilly TM setup. Really should call it Hillbilly Water Pump System I guess. Charlie, thanks for your helping Andy. I'm not even qualified to rule on these things, tms that is, but nobody helped me and it's my money, so I'm giving to the guys with videos that might help the masses. I really think Andy's will open some eyes. Maybe real tm mechanics are cringing a little, but come on, show me another video that handles a complex component (water pump) for tms so a guy could actually get er done all on his own? Maybe we should let Terry & Eddie have their own section showcasing more advanced subjects. Til then, Andy gets it. He explains it to where there is little doubt it can be done. 
Something I've only learned as the year unfolded is that we need more actual data to support the specifics of these videos.  I'll let you guys figure out how best to present it, but probably every video here, all year, coulda been made better with a little fact sheet associated with it. Cuz don't forget, other real cleaners do in fact study these things.  For example, I bet I've gotten a dozen guys calling me referring to Mo's video on how to install the reusable crimp.  In Andy's, let's see an exploded view of the fittings or at least a brief list of the parts needed and where to get them, including the pressure regulator. The goal guys is to actually teach something and do it in a way where you actually help a fella do these things you teach.  We never want to see arm-waving 'look at me', 'boost my boards rankings' type videos. Fortunately, we've had none of that. I think you add another video Andy, the tail end of the van explaining the 22hp motor and blower and waste tank, maybe get Brevik involved and Mo give us a place to put it all... Hillbilly TM so it's saying what it is, specifically and BOOM we get more guys saying it, "Hey, I can do this!"   A hundred bucks on the way to Andy. I think this your 2nd winning of 2013.

And along the same lines, I loved Ryan's Repair Video, where he goes through the tools needed for Repair in a fairly complete way. This latest video wins for the Quarter mainly cuz it repeatedly stresses how a guy who really wants to get into repair, CAN.  He's also clearly trying to tie in with his earlier videos on the subject which is good. Maybe Mo can create a Repair section where Repair Specialists can help answer specifics. Think a couple more years down the road. Ryan could keep perfecting these things, turn it into a series, block it from free viewing, and let him sell it for real cash. For now, this mini series lets a fella see how it all fits together. Maybe another video on powerstretching, stay tacking, even an interview with real installers - cuz this is where most of the mistakes we're repairing originate from.
I can see Ryan winning again and again as he builds this repair thing into a whole suite of videos. Maybe there's other Specialsts who never have contributed here?

I can see several of you guys expanding on your videos, new guys coming forward with theirs; covering all kinds of cleaning related subjects: hard surface C&R, marketing, etc.

Note no music was used in either of these winners. Got right into it. Explained it well. Actually all the videos this month were good. Even Davey Cracker's, a video newbie but his were very well thought out. Tough decision. In earlier months his videos woulda won. Big hopes for all you guys in 2014, now that you can see how it's done. Less flash, more facts.  Our trade is about get 'er done. Focus on helping us get er done. The winners in 2014 will be the ones who really explain the things we need help with; the videos that cram as much detail and data we can use into theirs. Start now, mini clips on your specialties, then combine then into one. Surely Mo or somebody can show you guys how to edit like a pro. Like how you got out 5 red stains instead of just one. How you market to 5 adjusters not just one. How you calibrate all the various things you calibrate, etc. And we need to see more specifics included. Like Ken Raddon's discussion of pads mid 2013? ... Awesome video. Mucho material. But no specific listings of exactly what pads/parts/tools we needed and where. I can help here if you guys get me these specifics. 
Several of the 2013 videos could be redone with this info and be turned into winners. 2014 winners will be the ones that are thrown up here as a "Take 1." Later in the year "Take 2" with refinements, and BOOM we have a winner. 

Here's to more and more in 2014. Real Cleaners Rock.

Good pick Joe, Andy's pump set up is simplicity at its finest. I would imagine if he gets the 2 year warranty he could replace if it starts leaking or pump fails. Now we just need to see his blower, engine, and tank set up.

Thanks for committing to another year of the Video Contest and really putting your money where your mouth is with regards to helping cleaners learn and prosper.
