makes my blood boil!

Wife is doing taxes. Dang penalty for not having health insurance the whole year. They just want to put a choke hold on you one way or another.!  Then they are hitting harder on financial aid (scholarships)she got for finishing her nursing degree. Is that the stupidist thing you ever heard of??? "Go back to school to better yourself, work hard to find and get a schoarship, then get screwed on your taxes because of it???!! Just freajing dumb. Lost child earn income credits.
Sometimes it feels like they are just telling us to bend over and take it.#!&!%!@?\!&#=$%!!!!!
Looks like this may be the 2nd time we have to pay fed taxes.. I HATE PAYING!!!!!

You are the first one that I know getting hit with the penalty under the new medical insurance mandate....I would be ticked off as well, it is BS.

Look on the bright side, you can feel good knowing that there is a bum playing video games and eating fritos thanks to guys like you.

If you think the no medical insurance penalty was bad wait till you start making that monthly medical insurance premium. I think insurance is the biggest scam there is.

LOL, you guys are funny, I've been paying a ton of taxes for as long as we've been in business and even though I wish the rate is lower than what it is now, I also look at the bright side, there are some countries that charge 50 % to 80 %, imagine if you get to enjoy only 20 % of your hard earned $$, I think billionaires should be paying that kind of percentage without any loop holes especially tax deductible political contribution and give us middle class better tax rates, but that will never happen until lobbying is banned which also will never happen, because if that happens, 90 % of politicians will give up their seats, ok I'm done, lol.

I hate to add kerosene to the fire, but I've lived in a couple of those countries that take 50% to 80% and it is a different animal all together.

Sure, they have a majority of their money taken from them in taxes, but they also receive a lot of services from the government.  Utilities, phone service, fuels, medical, food, and even free vacations are all part of the deal.

I didn't care for the arrangement, but they did get a far greater return on their taxes paid.  They get fuel subsidies and we get added fuel taxes for example.

I think that has always been the issue in the US....where does that money go?  If it flowed back to ALL of the citizens, there wouldn't be so much animosity towards paying taxes.

Unfortunately, the taxes paid often just goes to someone else and has no return value to the person paying into the system.

As for the billionaires....well, I still buy lotto tickets in hopes of becoming one, so I wouldn't want any changes like that.

To me the whole system of the more you work, the more you make, and the less you get to keep, is a flawed one on all levels.

not sure what medical insurance is in your guys areas but here its like 90 bucks a month for a really good plan,     sure anything up to 1500.00 is out of pocket no big deal

but if I get seriously hurt or ill I am completely covered,   same plan before all this was like 300-350 a month for someone like me

just plan well for tax time and it shouldnt be any sum of money you have to come up with, just set it aside from each job and pretend it doesnt exist... charge the customer another 15 bucks here and there

AC, that's amazingly cheap ( insurance rate ) and it's the best advice ever, charge extra 15 bucks here and there, brilliant !

What I meant to say was "income / business TAX surcharge" but you get the point, lol.
But seriously I can't give enough credits to AC for that 15 bucks idea, that's definitely enough to pay almost all my self employment taxes for a whole year
