I don't know squat

Post by Matt; My carpet cleaner on Wed Nov 28, 2018 6:39 pm

I did a rental today that was just nasty. About an 8/10. Luckily no urine of any kind. But a little of everything else. The 2 bed rooms were not that dirty; they turned out. The living room; barely so-so. The room at the top of the stairs; I feel like a rookie. It was in ghetto hood.
I'll try to post a pic from my phone.

"You don't always get to be the hero"....told to me by my HS basketball coach, still applies in life.

It all comes down to having the correct perspective in regards to expectations. I just spent 12 hours between 2 post offices moving mail in a very cold rain only to fail to finish the last route. I had to return to the office with undelivered mail and left feeling like the biggest failure of them all. There were a lot of obstacles to my chances of finishing in time, but I still hated the outcome. I was so mad about it that I drove right past my exit and was almost 20 miles off my return route home before I realized it.

You just have to accept that some days you don't get to wear the cape.

The pic is grainy, so you don't really see the stains, discolors,...
Trust me, they still looked ugly dirty.
I did get a $6 tip.
I get what your saying about the cape.
I wasn't really whacking myself over the head, just posting to start a conversation:)
You win some, you lose some.

You know what's funny is that sometimes the customer is happier than you are at the final results

Well said Mo.
Today I went and  cleaned 5 area rugs that were used for an outside "journey to Bethlehem" program put on by a local church.
Roman soldiers, tax collectors, a peddlers street in Bethlehem, wise men, animals, a stable, and an Angel....
So they put down some rugs in some of the peddlers shops. The night my family went it was sprinkling a bit.
2 of the rugs were a muddy and frozen mess. I made them look pretty good(from where they started from). When I dumped the dirty water, it looked like Hersey's chocolate syrup. Wanta see pics?
Sooooooooo....
I wasn't totally happy with the results; but as a wise man once said, "sometimes the customer is happier than you are at the final results ".
