So I used DG recently(I don't use that often). And I'm amazed.
My son is making a gocart. Had a bearing he put on a shaft, but the shaft had sticky residue from a sticker. He didn't remove the residue first. It was stuck! I grabbed the DG and rubbed; it took off the residue in 30 sec of scrubbing. The shaft was smooooth. And the bearing would move easier to where he wanted it.

I was in a local farm supply store yesterday, and noticed they sell it now.

Yup, next will be "as seen on tv".
Check the reviews out guys, the 2 negative reviews are for stains on leather, apparently deep green does not work well on leather.

They are talking about a tanned leather that is also likely getting treated with mink oil or other water repellents. To expect a water-based product to affect a stain beneath a water-resistant barrier is a special kind of stupid.

He needs to do videos of the product to educate people. We all know that the product works and works quite well in the hands of someone who understands what to do with it.

Interlink sells a leather cleaning kit. They also have videos on YouTube that show you how to clean different types of leather.

It's definitely a specialty. I've done a small amount of it, and I definitely would not want to do it all the time.

It has been a long time for me as well, but it is a pretty specialized and high risk product to clean correctly.

How much do you guys charge for leather sofa cleaning ? I heard it takes a lot of manual scrubbing ?

I haven't done it in years, it took too much time so you really had to charge a lot and the market isn't that great around here. It can take a lot of steps.

I think any leather cleaning is all manually done. I've not heard of another method that didn't require all hand work.

I don't offer leather anymore, but a couch would have been 30 bucks a foot for me pretty easy. If it was stained, I wouldn't even attempt it. I wasn't experienced enough to take something like that on.

It was well past $30/ft for me back then, but that market doesn't exist around here. I know a company that restores antique theater seats that will take months to restore a single seat to the tune of around $7,000 each. I doubt they deal in volume.

Oh wow ! That makes me want to look into it as the market is there, I always turn them down.

Dealing with dried out leather was my biggest issue as were ink stains. You can get $400 to clean a nice leather sofa, but you could also screw it up and end up buying people a $4,500 sofa.

Just like in carpet cleaning, over-promising can kill you with that service and I would strongly suggest that you place it under it's own corporation separate from carpet cleaning. The owners of really expensive furniture and coats, antique briefcases, etc. are not going to look up a carpet monkey....they are going to look for a specialist.

I agree with everything Bob said. Dried out leather was what I would encounter. Folks think you don't have to maintain leather goods.

My advice would be to seek out training if you want to really do leather. There are different types of leather that have to be cleaned differently. NuBuck being a nasty one that can be troublesome.

I am not so brave now in life, to do something like this without a good education. It's like expensive rugs. It can cost you a lot of money if you screw it up.
