totally opposite Empty totally opposite

So I went to do an empty 2 story house. I walk in, the kitchen/dine is first-all tiled: and messy!!!! I go to hook up water to kitchen sink, totally brown crud build up. Counters got crud and crap all over. The toilet look like they had never been cleaned. Oh, and leaves all over the front patio.
*Yet the carpets were hardly dirty at all!!!!! The living room was a 3, from excessive wear. All the rest was a 1 or 2.
How can someone make a popo mess all over, but not the carpets???
-some day I'm just lucky.
