Had to pay this year. 1st time in last 20. Will NOT happen again!

Paying taxes is a sign of success friend. You shouldn't hate it, but instead see the positive side to it.

Just sent my check yesterday 

Paying in means that you didn't forecast far enough out. I don't think anyone should pay in, ensure you have adequate deductions throughout the year to meet your forecasts.

Paying in doesn't just cost you in the check, it means that you missed the chance to add equipment, advertise more, new uniforms, tires on the van, etc. Instead of you making beneficial changes to your business, you paid for Obama's green fees.

I lost the battle a few years ago and have never forgotten that lesson.

 

Yeah..... While I understand where you are coming from Robert, if business didn't ever pay any taxes, how does the country run then?

Paying taxes, like it or not, is a sign your company is successful enough to make a profit. Your company has zero value without a paper trail. Some may not care about that, but some day you will want to pursue other things other than working.

As usual, you make an excellent point. I will, however, contend that a business doesn't pay for the running of a country in itself, it is the industry, goods, employee incomes, growth, etc. that a business creates that funds a country.

Do you think GM for example is paying a lot of taxes? I doubt it, but all their employees are paying income taxes. Their dealerships are generating commerce for the county taxes, fuel taxes, sales taxes, mechanics and their sales and property taxes, licenses, etc.

The more you can invest into your business instead of into the coffee mess of the federal government, the greater impact you will end up having on the local commerce and taxes being collected by the county, state, and feds as a result.

Wow am I missing something... how do u make a profit as in paying yourself and not pay taxes... that is of course after making 12k a year?

I have no problem paying taxes but do you know what a 750 dollar one pound manually activated impact driving tool with claw extractor is. 
In simple talk: 16 oz claw hammer that's what your paying higher taxes for or 1500 bucks for a toilet seat.
Or how about you get 100,000 this year but don't use it all this year so next year it deducted from you. So you use it or loose it. Run your house hold this way.

Adj gross income up, wife got a large scholorship, death benifit inheritance, lost child tax credits.

That sucks being so close to breaking even like that....4k is all. Sometimes you can't forecast everything.

Ever since I broke the partnership and start solo in LA, second year here we already have to pay, this year we owe pretty big even though I pay quarterly, yes I feel that the rate should be a bit lower and the government should charge higher rate to investors and billionaires, instead the infamous half rate investors tax brackets still there due to the lobbying they do to crook politicians, another f@#$ed up thing, when I see people on food stamps driving a brand new acura or lexus, that really pissed me off cause I know I'm paying for those things and those criminals abused the system, ok I better stop, take a deep breath and remind myself there's a reason why I don't talk politics, lol.

Y'all are haters. Everyone deserve to have what each other's has regardless of how hard they work or sleep all day long. I'm proud to help losers smoke, so drugs, eat, and have expensive stuff. They worked just as hard for it as I did. Just in a different way. Hats off to all all freeloading and tax paying Americans.

I pay taxes but have a hard time doing so when I see people eating themselves into disability... seriously? you can just eat enough and get fat enough then the government sends you free money every month and you dont have to go to work?

have a hard time forking over the money when I see 13 yr old girls at the county fair that are 150lbs overweight, and they are baby feeding the other kids McDonalds..


Or when I drive by a "church" that is in the backyard of someones house and nobody ever goes there, but because of a cross attached to the building they are getting funding
