What's the the number one task you would like to out source?
If I had to choose it would probably be the accounting. I hate to admit it but I don't even use Quickbooks etc.
I have my customer database on excel and keep paper receipts and at the end of the year I use Turbo Tax. Talk about being way behind the times. If I'm not careful I could be paying customers to clean their carpets
What task would you like to outsource or hire for?

Similar here Mo, but mine is the billing. You would think that it would be the easy part since that was the goal in the first place, but it is always the toughest part of the job to me.
Just yesterday I had a customer who has hired me to clean the homes of all his kids over the past 3 months (4 daughters) take me aside and tell me that I wasn't charging nearly enough. He was a retired contractor himself and he just shook his head at my bill and told me that I work way to hard for I what I charge and tipped me a fifty on a minimum charge job.
I would love to turn over the billing to someone else and just be able to focus on the job and the customer. Probably should marry an accountant with a brother named Joey Knuckles.

Accounting/parperwork part would be nice to have someone else do.

Maybe we should have a quickbooks for carpet cleaners video series. That software can be intimidating because it does so much. But really you dont need to to do all that crap. Just take in info and spit out numbers to hand to your tax accountant.
Re: What's the the number one task you would like to out source?
Rob, I found a check from February just a couple of weeks ago. How the heck did I forget that? It was a 380.00 check that's a lot of money for me. I think it might have been the first check I deposited through my phone. I must have thought it went through
Yeah I need to give QuickBooks another try. The learning curve looked a bit steep. An accounting software platform that can integrate most of the tasks you perform on a daily basis would be nice.

I do use QuickBooks, but only for invoices....haven't learned much else yet.
I really should take the time to gain a proper education on this one.
$380 check is not something to misplace, lot of money for me too. Question is, how to explain that delay to the customer when they ask?

Re: What's the the number one task you would like to out source?
Yea, not an amount you want to be misplacing, Mo.
Good, you finally found it tho.

I just deposited it ad waited for the phone call. He probably thought I cleaned his house and RV for tree
Re: What's the the number one task you would like to out source?
square register for everything. too easy. every job is paid for at the time of work, except the very few commercial we do and anything that is bought pre paid online.
any billing is just an excel attachment in an email, dont do anything by snail mail
WA Dept of REv online E file for taxes, turbo tax once per year
If I could sub out anything it would be the phone answering/scheduling, just cant keep up with it...

Re: What's the the number one task you would like to out source?
Once QB's is set up, it really should be a breeze for anyone to use. I NEVER used any kind of accounting program until two years ago when I bought QB's 2013. There was a learning curve, but a small one for me. Entering expenses, making invoices, and entering payments is SOOO simple.
I just take my laptop to my tax lady when I do my taxes once a year. Easy peasy.

None actually, I'm a control freak !
Well actually TM repair ( the electrical problems and the complicated issues ), I hate working on them due to the tight spaces, especially when they're hot after being used, ugh, can't stand it.
